Newshounds points us to the comments section of a Fox News article. The article is about Somalia:
World Health Organization officials said Friday that famine-hit Somalia faces a cholera epidemic as dirty water and poor sanitation are leading to an increase in outbreaks of the disease.
Officials say cases of acute watery diarrhea — an important indicator of the risk of cholera — are now at 4,272 in Somalia — an 11 percent rise on last week’s WHO reported figure of 3,839.
WHO public health adviser Dr. Michel Yao told reporters in Geneva on Friday that the number of cholera cases has also risen sharply this year, with officials confirming 18 cases in the 30 lab samples taken in recent days from people living in the capital, Mogadishu.Yao said the 60 percent infection rate confirms there is a “high risk” of the disease spreading quickly — “so we can say we have an epidemic.”
A normal human response to this news might be some concern, maybe some sadness, maybe even an impulse to help. But that’s not how Fox News’ audience rolls. Instead we get beauties like, “Finally some good news,” and “LETtheNIGGERSdie!!!!” My favorite is, “If I was born in Somalia, I’d eat my U.N. gruel until I was strong enough to crawl to a cliff and fall off.” Also strong is the comment that insists that “Africans are to [sic] stupid to run anything least of all a country.”
I also like how many people have clicked on the “like” button to show their silent approval of these comments. I guess Fox really knows their audience.
More to look forward to: Vernon Robinson (Google him), who opposed Brad Miller (NC-13) last year, has announced as a candidate against Larry Kissell (NC-08).
More Herman Cain-Allen West crazy on the way.
Vernon Robinson. I seem to recall a few posts by Gilly on this guy. Gilly really didn’t like him.
Fuzzy, but back there somewhere…

evangelical christians … moral values … racists … zealots! The Somali people are most likely Muslims and are a vital security threat to the US! Famine will wipe those people out, a biblical prophesy for God’s protection of our great nation.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
BTW-
Bachmann won the Ames Straw Poll. Ron Paul came in second. TPaw showed in third. Santorum did better than Mittens.
TPaw a distant third place. Bachmann and Paul nearly tied.
If I was born a Republican, I’d eat my Kockbrothers blood pudding until I was strong enough to crawl to a cliff and fall off.
Rick Perry was 6th as a write in (wonder if it was spelled Parry) and Romney was 7th. I know Ames is considered a joke by serious people, but shouldn’t Perry write 6th place give Romney’s team a wake-up call?
Well the percentage breakdown is actually not by much.
but shouldn’t Huntsman just give it up now? Dude got 69 votes, aside from his own Iowa team who else voted.
And I see Tee-Paw finished “a distant” third, but I bet he’s gonna milk that for all it’s worth.
Huntsman’s whole thing is New Hampshire. What Iowa is to Pawlenty New Hampshire is to Huntsman.
also 2016
Rick Perry receives 718 write-in votes. Romney’s name was on ballot. He receives 567 votes
I’d be proud to come in last in that poll.
Since their brand of idiocy is no doubt faith-based, I guess it would be useless to point out that we are all Africans. Since Jesus made white people to romp in America with the dinosaurs 6000 years ago.
What a country.
Another fun fact: The only humans who don’t have some Neanderthal ancestry are… Africans. Which is to say, the only “racially pure” Homo sapiens are Africans.
Shocking!

Are they as human as Conoco – or just standing in the way of our energy consumption?
Various countries have already raided the waters off somalia for the fish. The only things left of value would be under water or underground. I imagine the vultures have been circling for a while.
Sadly, these people are voters. Sigh.
Sadly, these people aren’t new. I’m reading Nixonland. Scary shit.
The socialogical sickness of institutionalized racialism in America effects the overwhelminng majority of white Americans. Most white Americans prefer never to think realistically about the so-called racial division in America. Their method of coping with and justifting their refusal to acknowledgement that racialism influences virtually all major socialogical decisions made in America.
Some racialist Americans under the blanket of anonymity glorify in their expression of dispicable hateful coarseness directed at those African American populations who are the objects of their scorn.
These racialist phobic individuals are not more apparent in today’s society simply because America elected a black president. Rather it is the universal access to the Internet that has given these individuals a boundless platform from which they at their will can spew out whatever racial idiocy that occurs to them; subjecting an unsuspecting mass audience to the full extent of their hatefilled venomous bombast.
More stupidity and ignorance. More “let them pull themselves up by the bootstraps” nonsense. More heartless refusal to see that these people have absolutely nothing – no homes, clothes, food supplies, sanitation, hope. I lived in West Africa during the Great Sahel drought of the 1980s. We were on the coast, but the Chadians, Malians, Nigerians (people from Niger, not Nigeria), and other Sahel countries trickled down from their arid wastelands looking for sustenance. They wandered into the city where we lived, which itself was mostly just a huge slum with only two paved roads, one along the coast and the other going north, and they begged everywhere. The Chadians were so desperate some of them deliberately blinded or maimed their children and set them out as beggars because a maimed child is more pitiful than a healthy looking one and thus more likely to bring in some money.
When I hear Tea Partiers and the GOP advocating that we cut off foreign aid and let these people fend for themselves when the foreign aid for entire countries is less than what one hedge fund manager realizes in one year of “work”, I could scream. Callous bastards, most of them front and center in church every Sunday proclaiming Jesus’ approval of them and their prosperity gospel which tells them that Jesus didn’t really mean all that stuff about loving the least among us.
