Death in High Places

This is a crime fiction by Jo Bannister. In her photo, she looks like a sweet grade school teacher. Her writing removes that idea from your head in a hurry.
It is not a long book, but so very well done.
There is a character who is  CEO and is rich. He is able to manipulate the main character because the he wants something from him.
The point that was made is that the CEO never has seen or heard of the results of his actions on others. There are layers of help that insulate him. He is totally ignorant of how his actions harm people.
I have put it badly, but it does explain how some in politics and corporations can be so heartless and inhuman.
They don’t know and they don’t care.
