Happy birthday s to the ask family- hope he return trip to Geneva is smooth.
Hi Andi F – thanks for the gorgeous picture. I hope you’re enjoying the morning light. I’m using mine to get an early start on my day and hopefully an early end to my office day as a result. 🙂
Wishing everyone else a good week as well! I miss having time to visit the cafe…that Finny is a time taker. ..
I am happy DST is gone. I wish it would stay gone (or better yet that Indiana would switch to the Central Time Zone).
A happy good riddance to DST. Not only are the mornings brighter, but the clock in my car is displaying the correct time again, and will until March.
There are way too damn many clocks to change at our house. At least the computers change themselves. A pox upon DST!
Awesome. Why change the clock when it will fix itself in a few months anyway?
I can’t go w/o adjusting the car clocks — with my geezer memory I forget that’s it’s an hour off and think I’m late every time I get in the car.
I love the ability to get up earlier without even trying. I just need to make it home earlier to get my family time in.
But it’s dark at 5:00. Ugh.
Ack! What a horrible time to be awake. I try to avoid those early hours at all costs;-)
I’m not looking forward to that part…
Love the photo! Bebo seems to be greeting the work week with great exuberance.
Echo the good wishes for the asks.
I wish I could greet the week with such enthusiasm! 🙂
Bebo greets everything with great exuberance.
She’s almost as good as the guy who came out here last week to take pictures for the assessor — now there’s a guy who loves his work … or least loves hanging around and chatting.
Ha ha! That had to be Jerry. He also refs high school sports. That’s probably a much tougher job!
I’m sure reffing is harder than showing up at a house with barking hounds. You can’t buy off an irate coach or parent with a dog biscuit.
It did look like a pretty nice job — I wouldn’t mind driving around the county, stopping every now and then to take pictures of houses. 🙂
Ha! I do that now and don’t get paid for it.
Well now you know what job to look for when you get tired of being a high-powered lawyer. 😉
I’m already tired of it. Now where are those houses?
It would be except for the cold, rainy days, vicious dogs and the occasional even more vicious libertarian lecture on the evils of government and property taxes. Still, as Jim remarked, reffing is probably much tougher;-)
Good morning! Finny was up at 5:30 this morning, raring to go, so I’m getting an early start today….
I guess it’s a good thing because CBtY has a doctor appointment this afternoon. On the bright side, today is a wfh day, and it seems to a great deal warmer than the weekend was.
My internal clock is still on DST so I’m getting up even early than usual. I’m hoping for my own personal “fall back” adjustment to happen soon.
The temps have been balmy here too — several days in the 60s and even 71 today! Then it drops to 57 Wednesday and 47 Thursday (with a low of 30).

Amazing! It seems like the late-Autumn landscape is reflected in the drops. Really great!
Hi, everyone! Getting ready for winter here & another 70 degree day.
wtf?
🙂
See you again soon!
Hi ww! Weird weather temps here too – 63ºF today. Toasty. 🙂
Good to see you, Miss O! Glad you’re toasty — let’s enjoy it while it lasts.
(We may get snow tomorrow!)
Advance weather news for you (probably) — we went from a high of 70 Tuesday to 57 Wednesday to 47 today with below freezing temps tonight.
It blew in here last night…Just in time for the weekend.
Ooooh, that’s gorgeous.
Now THAT is awesome!
Thanks for compliments, everybody.
It is amazing. Are you off for a chilly morning walk today?
I’m wfh today – I love Thursdays. 😉
The sun was out so the walk really didn’t feel all that chilly but it might this morning — it’s 28 degrees right now.
I was tempted to read the daily paper on the front porch this morning, but wimped out when I saw all the frost on the roofs nearby.
Yeah it was chilly — and there was pretty heavy frost.
Its a bit less chilly now, but still, I don’t think I’d like dinner on the deck over at the beer garden by our place right now. They have someone singing out there tonight. I suppose after enough brews they won’t notice the cold so much.
It’s definitely a nip to the air here – and I’m not ready for it yet! I can’t seem to get warm.
I knit BooMan a new hat, and CBtY already tried to misappropriate it.
Well, that says something for your knitting and design abilities. Our kids would never have worn anything like that that “wasn’t cool”. I still miss my wood stove that we had to leave behind when we moved from our renovated 1800s barn to town 22 years ago. OTOH, its nice to wake up to a toasty warm house instead of a frigid one.
You just needed a better stove — our Vermont Castings has been keeping our house quite warm and toasty day and night for almost three decades.
But looks like the cold snap was just that and we’re going right back to the unseasonable 60s (bad luck for the deer).
I can’t take any credit for the design, I used a pattern. But I think the amazing fall color of the yarn might have something to do with it’s appeal. I need to post a knitapalooza diary….and get some more awesome yarn for a second hat for someone.
Vermont castings stoves are the way to go, btw.
Oh I hope you do! I’ve missed them. 🙂
I second the enthusiasm for a knitting diary. And also olivia should post some pictures of her knitting in the comments.
Given recent weather, it’s high time to do a knitapalooza.
Still blocked for me. Unless it’s supposed to be a white box. 😉
Olivia will be along a little later this morning to post the Friday Foto Flogging diary.
This week’s theme is Secret Places.
Cool! Just in time to celebrate All Ones Day. (11/11/11)
I’ve been trying to figure out how I could post comments all over the internet at today 11:11 a.m.
Morning everyone.
Here’s the link.
Morning olivia! Wow, that was a quick month since the last Flog!
You’re right – it does seem rather fast!
It just seems fast when you’re old. :::ducks:::
Hey kid – get offa my lawn!

Beautiful shot! Most of our leaves are down now.
Indianadem is right — I shot this 3 weeks ago. Trees are bare here too.
Lovely! Bet you shot that one less recently than the past weekend. Our leaves are mostly down here too, b2.
You win the bet. See above.
Unusual Cloud Formation
Note the faint vertical element to it on the right side. That column never did get any thicker or brighter, it just faded away.
Contrail from UFO launch;-)
Hah! I’ll check around and see if there’s been any other visuals.
Ha! I thought it was the smoldering remains of Rick Perry’s campaign.
You can get some pretty trippy cloud formations out on the Plains.
Yah, you betcha!
Gorgeous mare’s tail.
I’ve heard that descriptive before, but it’s not common ’round these here parts.
Now ya got me off into the wiki of cirrus clouds, which I see could provide endless hours of entertainment some cold winter’s eve.
What a cool picture. The cloud on the left looks like its holding the vertical cloud in its “palm”.
Good morning!
Home with a fever/cold. Good to relax in bed.

Sorry you’re not feeling well and that the news isn’t making you feel any better.
Very sad to see that. I hope that you’re feeling better soon.
“You can’t evict an idea whose time has come.”
They can break up the encampments but they can’t unring the bell. People are talking about income inequality now. They weren’t 3 months ago. OWS is an idea whose time has come.
A couple of shots of akevitt ought to fix ya right up, ask.
Best wishes for a speedy relief to the current ailment.
Get better soon, ask.
It seems that yesterday’s Mare’s Tail was a harbinger of this;
Rest of Today
Occasional snow. New snow accumulation up to 1 inch.
Total snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Highs in the mid 30s. Windy. Northwest winds around 25 mph with gusts to around 40 mph. Chance of snow 80 percent.
Cirrus clouds usually indicate a big change in the weather within a day.
I would’ve thought that 2 inches of snow in North Dakota wasn’t even worth mentioning. OTOH, it was very much worth getting to see this nicely atmospheric and well-framed shot.
Nice shot – just glad I don’t have to go out to work in it anymore.
Wow the spammers have been busy putting up diaries!
Yes, there’s hardly any room left for us.
