Booman wrote a short post this morning called Bloomberg Cracks Down on OWS. Like scratching a rash, the only thing that this action will ultimately accomplish is to spread the infection. This is the next part of a worldwide movement that actually started in Tunisa in December of 2010 with the self-immolation of a man named Mohamed Bouazizi. So far several governments have been toppled in North Africa/the Middle East. As the movement has spread westward and northward through Europe and now into the United States it has left change in its wake everywhere that it has raised its head.
The Greek/Italian/Spanish economic crises? The riots in Great Britain? The current near-disintegration of the European Union? All part of the same system.
And now it is moving and growing in the United States.

As I have said before, man’s chief delusion is his conviction that he can do. All people think that they can do, all people want to do, and the first question all people ask is what they are to do. But actually nobody does anything and nobody can do anything. This is the first thing that must be understood. Everything happens. By understanding this “Occupy” thing in this way…as part of a movement that can be compared to a disease, although it is really more like a counter-disease or an influx of disease-fighting blood cells, a reaction to on ongoing illness that might be called “Ultra-Capitalism” for want of a more commonly used term…its movements and reactions to the application of standard social doctoring applications like police actions can be quite accurately predicted.
Because of its decentralized, semi-leaderless form, the normal quasi-military approach of “Kill the head and the body dies” does not work. This movement more resembles a flight of starlings or a school of fish than it does a lockstep, clomp-clomp-clomping army or a centralized infection, and thus a “Clearing Zuccotti Park” attack will simply result in multiplying into another set of sites where the disease will strike.
Try to “clear” movements like these and see what happens.
They will just flow around the wind currents or attacks and then continue on in their 99% job of survival.

The subways. The streets. The real centers of 1% power like the Stock Exchange and the UN.

This counter-disease will only spread. Bloomberg types and their sharks can always grab a few sardines, but the school is now in permanent session. Graduation time? November, 2012 or just before.
This movement is going to seriously affect the next election.
