This is my rug about Alzheimers. I hope to finish it soon, but I’ve been teaching rug hooking workshops and haven’t had time to sit and work on it.

I also have a new book about rughooking, which I’m very excited about. It’s at Amazon, under Rug Hookers Companion. It’s coming out in November of this year.
Busy!
Very nice, donnah! Alzheimers is a terrible thing. We lost my dad 5 years before he died from it. Some have called it The long goodbye.
Thank you. My husband’s dad died with Alzheimers, too. It’s a cruel disease that robs the person of everything. He would have been mortified if he could have seen himself in his last years, but he didn’t know. It was just as well. When he died, we were there and he didn’t know it.
I hope to use the finished rug as a tribute to those who have lost loved ones to Alzheimers. Even when they see it now, unfinished, they want to talk about their family. I think it’s good to talk about it so we don’t feel alone or guilty.
