Hello again painting fans.
BTW, the Sedona Traffic piece was accepted for the latest show at the Kent (Ct) Art Association. Woohoo!
This week I’ll be continuing with the new southern Arizona scene. The photo that I am using is seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8×8 inch gallery wrap canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
I have continued to refine the 3 bands to the rear as well as the base blue layer of the organ cactus itself. The colors are now more apparent and more solid. I don’t want this one to have too hard an edge and will begin details and some softening for next week.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
That’s about it for now. Next week I’ll have more progress to show you. See you then. As always, feel free to add photos of your own work in the comments section below.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Paint me a picture of your thoughts.
Great news about the Kent Art Association show. Congrats!
Thanks ID!

Is there a link to the results of the art show.
I see Indianadem is congratulating you, so I take it it was a success.
I see the dramatic changes from last week to this.
Looks great.
Do you know if that`s an Organ Pipe cactus?
Knucklehead, ID was offering his congratulations for being accepted into the show. That only means mine gets to hang in the gallery. The show continues until early June. There were awards but apparently I was overlooked once again. 😉
Yes, that is an organ cactus. Thanks!
