Some fun things on the internet.
Jennifer Granholm slaps Mitt Romney around.
Why the ending of Star Wars was kinda dumb.
Sometimes I feel like Clarence Budington Kelland, too. Not that I know who that hell that is.
Chris Clarke gets thoughtful.
Happy Birthday, Frank Chow.
One of the strangest websites ever.
The Philly Union face off against FC Schalke tonight.
Obama endorsed gay marriage.
Post some links and share some mojo.
I tend to think the last item on your list deserves a little more dignifying, personally.
The President chose to complete his “evolution” in the classiest way possible, I think. I’ve always been expecting a far more ostentatious (and false) payoff.
I suspect the Charlotte venue this summer and the bigoted amendment that passed last night played prominently into the timing. All I can say to the President is well done, sir.
Real dignity.
The only person more insufferable than Matt Stoller is Paul Rosenberg.
Who?
Okay, this is a mojo thread. It’s supposed to be happy and people are so supposed to give each other ‘4’s .
wow. that is probably the dumbest shit I’ve seen come out of Stoller’s mouth.
My crystal ball apparently is defective, and has been returned to the seller.
Congratulations, Mr. President. That was a gutsy move.
I swear to God, America Blog’s commenters are worse than the ones at FDL. And it ruins genuine criticism of the president. They can’t even reward him for when he does good. Derangement, indeed.

Banker’s mojo.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
Garfieldminusgarfield is a GREAT site.
For more comics fun, visit the comics curmudgeon. It’s awesome.
I can really relate to John’s angst.
Representative Michele Bachmann becomes a Swiss citizen.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
My condolences to the Swiss.
I am so happy Obama (however belatedly) endorsed gay marriage.
It has no immediate practical impact, but it will mean a lot to a lot of people, especially after yesterday’s discouraging NC vote. Years from now, people won’t remember that NC vote, but they’ll look back at Obama’s “coming out” as a major turning point.
I lived through eight years of Reagan never once mentioning the AIDS pandemic as it unfolded. For anyone queer who survived that era, the import of this is unmistakeable.
that’s a good observation. With Obama -by virtue of the fact that a president came out in favor of equality- it is historic as it would have been if ANY president had done so.
With North Carolina, it’s just the same old bunch of backward bigots doing what they’ve done dating back to slavery, civil rights, and everything else. Gee, North Carolina needs to be dragged into the 21t century? Quelle surprise.
It certainly is gutsy, and is in stark contrast to the mealy-mouthed nothing-burger from R-Money.
some amazing satellite images of earth: Aqua MODIS
for all the bike riders and outdoor enthusiasts, counting roadkill for science
I don’t know how active anyone is in the secular community, but over at Free Thought Blogs, there’s been a big kerfuffle over a lobbyist that the Secular Coalition for America hired to lobby on our behalf in Congress on issues of secular importance as the Executive Director (stemcell research, gay equality, separation of church and state, access to birth control, etc).
Her name is Edwina Rogers. What’s the problem? Many. She’s a Republican, for one. Now I’m not entirely against hired Republicans if they’re dedicated to your cause, but it just rang some alarm bells off. Then it was discovered that she donated money to Rick Perry’s campaign. She’s also had multiple interviews to try and assuage people’s concerns, but she comes off as either ignorant or an idiot (or both). If anyone’s interested, check it out:
Interview with Roy Speckhardt, SCA Board
Interview with Edwina Rogers
Quite frankly, the SCA fucked up badly.

Studs Terkel’s birthday is May 16… he would’ve been 100 this year.
I remember reading American Dreams Lost and Found as a kid, back around the end of the 1970s. That book had a profound effect on my worldview.

Valerie Trierweiler not welcome by the British Queen
VictoriaElizabeth II (protocol). BTW Hollande will get keys to Elysées Palace on May 15."But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
Banda Aceh. [Everything back to normal?]
The Aceh administration has shut down at least 16 Christian undung-undungs,
alleging they were being run without permits and had been drawing complaints from locals.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
Mickey Hart to “play” the Golden Gate Bridge. Sort of.
Late for the party. Any drinks left?
