It’s about time:
The Justice Department ordered Florida’s elections division to halt a systematic effort to find and purge the state’s voter rolls of noncitizen voters.
Florida’s effort appears to violate both the 1965 Voting Rights Act, which protects minorities, and the 1993 National Voter Registration Act – which governs voter purges – T. Christian Herren Jr., the Justice Department’s lead civil rights lawyer, wrote in a detailed two-page letter sent late Thursday night.
State officials said they were reviewing the letter. But they indicated they might fight DOJ over its interpretation of federal law and expressed frustration that President Barack Obama’s administration has stonewalled the state’s noncitizen voter hunt for nine months.
Hopefully, this warning will be heeded. We wouldn’t want to have to put the Florida governor in prison, now would we?
We wouldn’t want to have to put the Florida governor in prison, now would we?
Isn’t prison where that jerkweed deserves to be?
In fact, I can think of quite a few governors who should probably be in prison.
I have no problem with putting the Florida governor in jail.
I’d be happy having the notices go out to Gov Scott and his entire family telling them they are off the voting rolls until this is resolved for everyone on the purge list.
put the mofo in jail
.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
Yes, P.Rick Scott is about as putrid as it gets down here in what I fondly refer to as the diseased penis of America. This criminal managed to slither his way into the governor’s mansion riding the same wave of racist teabagger sleaze that put Marco Rubio into a Senate seat. The DOJ needs to send out a task force after this crime boss and his minions because it is 2000 all over again right now.
