What was more impressive weekend reading? Ryan Lizza’s piece in the New Yorker, Peter Wallsten’s piece in the Washington Post, or the David Maraniss book excerpt on Obama’s love of basketball?
That’s a lot of words I consumed without writing anything in response. I don’t write well in hotel rooms.
Lizza is a Grade A, backstabbing a-hole. Just ask one of the Juicebox Mafia. That aside, did Lizza’s piece really tell us anything new? And what did it remind us? That some of PBO’s inner circle still believe that the Pukes will come to their senses after November. Haven’t these idjits learned anything? The GOP doesn’t do soul searching. Even if they lose big this November, they’ll just double down on what they’ve been doing. Lizza didn’t address that at all.
Juicebox Mafia?
Yeah .. you don’t remember that? I forget if some news article called them that .. or what .. but I remember two of them were Ezra Klein and Matt Yglesias .. but the one I am talking about used to work at TNR with Lizza
agreed, Lizza is a tool. I’d rather read a Dear Abby column from 1972.
I could care less about basketball. The second piece was interesting in that I don’t see what the admin is bitching about. Didn’t he publicly tell his allies to call him out and challenge when they felt he needed it?

Yes!!!!!! And then he acts all pissed off(behind closed doors), apparently, when people do exactly that.
you two can be so clueless. It’s very frustrating.
There’s a whole element of that article that discusses Obama and his admiration for the Letter from the Birmingham Jail, and how he knows that he can’t just ask gays to wait for their rights or Latinos to wait for immigration reform. And then it discusses how he cannot honestly fathom how those groups (especially gays) can not see how he is on their side.
He’s saying exactly what I’ve been saying. Lobby the man, but don’t demonize him.
Dude, don’t get mad because your hero ain’t perfect.
From what i just read in the washington post article, he doesn’t like being lobbied very much, never mind demonizing.
it’s funny to watch you post these articles, asking for comment and then getting mad when the comments aren’t what you want to hear.
dude, the article devotes huge chunks to how he hasn’t delivered on immigration reform. You know, with “facts” and thing like that?

PBO can’t honestly fathom how Latinos don’t see him as their friend? You mean the President who has ramped up deportations in numbers beyond anything Dubya ever did? And you call me clueless? Good God, man!!!
