I never heard of this guy before tonight, but since he’s calling me out as an example of why he can’t be a Democrat anymore, I suppose I’ll respond. I wasn’t mocking Andrew Breitbart’s death when I said I agreed with Steve M. that the Republicans are about to bring out their “inner Breitbart.” I was referring to a certain style of political action, discourse, and argument that relies on made-up crap and feverish conspiracy theories. That might indicate that I have a low opinion of the work Andrew Breitbart did while he was alive but it’s not mocking his death. I assume that I am allowed to be critical of the dead after a respectful period of time. So, really, I think his problem is more with Steve M., who at least referred to the fact that Breitbart is dead, than it is with me.

But even Steve didn’t really mock his death. He just said that the GOP is going to be running with a bunch of stories and theories that Breitbart pushed, making Breitbart a kind of from-the-grave campaign manager. Okay, so the headline was perhaps a little blunt, but I still don’t see why it was particularly mocking.

In any case, I am a little confused about Patrick’s politics. He describes himself as a center-left populist. But then he calls the Democrats the party of minorities and deadbeats who want handouts. We also murder a lot of babies and hate God. So, I’m not sure what changed about any of those things between 2004 when Patrick supported the Democratic candidate and 2008 when he did not. I don’t want to be accused of racial resentment, though, so I won’t point out one obvious explanation.

I think he might have some idea in his head that President Obama (or, the Democrats) is going to destroy capitalism by using clauses. You decide:

This is why I left them; because the honor left that party long ago. Not only that, but the Democrats scheme to bring down our capitalist system though the passage of a clause of to a bill, which turned a rather benign piece of legislation into a ticking time bomb.

He doesn’t mention the clause and I don’t read Breitbart’s stupid websites, so I have no clue what he’s talking about. Maybe it’s some convoluted effort to describe the work program requirements in Welfare that Obama just relaxed at the request of many Republican governors. Maybe it’s a giant chicken selling cheeseburgers on the 405 in Los Angeles. Who knows with these people?

They’re nuts.
