A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about a cool thing that Democracy for America is doing to empower women (and the men who care about them). It’s an online series of training seminars covering a variety of topics. Last week we worked on the efforts to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. Tonight, at 8pm, we’re covering the economic gender gap. The host will be Jenifer Daniels, who will explain how to start a conversation about the economic gender gap in your workplace or community. If you are interested, go here and you can get what you need to join the conversation tonight. This is a War for Women, and the idea is to give ordinary citizens tools they can use to fight back against a complete onslaught of right-wing activism to curtail women’s rights and to treat them as second-class citizens. The seminars are very innovative and interactive. By participating, you can also help us improve the way the seminars are designed. Hope to see you there.
Also there’s Team Uterati – http://teamuterati.com/ – with a comprehensive localized searchable database for anti-woman legislation, social media links, and other stuff.
OT: The Senate just passed 51-48 the Democrats Tax Cut extension for those under $250,000 per year.
I saw that Biden was there in case his tie breaking vote was needed.
yeah there were the sounds of the motorcade on CSPAN
Very good news, Jim. Now I hope they don’t pass the full extension that Reid promised a vote on.
Meanwhile, the House will undoubtedly defeat it. But that will give our Congressional candidates ammunition.
I would dearly love my Congressperson and raving lunatic, Joe Walsh to vote against it. I want to see him out even if my taxes go up. What the Hell, Pat Quinn and Joe Berrios are screwing me to the wall anyway.
They won’t defeat it. They couldn’t. They are just going to ignore it.
Joe Walsh would dare anything.
