Neither Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D, former governor) nor Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R, former attorney general) was on the ballot last night in New Hampshire.

For federal offices it was just the state’s two congressional seats that were at stake.  When the polls closed, Carol Shea-Porter (D) had reclaimed the 1st district seat she had held from 2007-11 and Ann McLane Kuster (D) had beaten incumbent Charlie Bass in the 2nd district making New Hampshire the first state to send an all-female delegation to Congress.

And yes, Maggie Hassan (D, former state senate majority leader) will be New Hampshire’s new governor.  (But don’t feel too bad Massachusetts; you finally elected your first female senator….)
