I don’t recall a mention on this blog, but others have written about a D-notice censoring the British press and an helicopter flight from Chambéry Airport to Geneve with three assassins shortly after the Chevaline massacre.
No trace left of D-notice at Indymedia UK. From a number of blogs a reference is made to a journalist from Manchester, however no links or names are given. Searching the Internet I found this “hidden comment” at Indymedia – The UK failed to protect Saad al Hilli. I can hardly believe this is the original article link as the post makes no sense. Unless someone can provides us with substantiated information, I’ll have to disregard the D-notice as false.
Iranian and Israeli Propaganda
A number of blogs copied a single statement and the only reference I could find it came from a single source, the Iranian state propaganda outlet Press TV. It’s interesting to note the fact it was in Iranian news is a worthwhile given. The (mis)information is …
“I copied the few commments on the indymedia site, earlier, just after the DA-notice comment from ‘Manchester based Journalist’, but not including the comment of 15:12 quoted by Anon here, concerning General Yossi Ben Hanan (chief of defence at Paris Israeli embassy) picking up three unknown others in helicopter at Chambrey Airport (close to the scene).”
This information was rehashed on a few blogs known for far fetched conspiracy theories. In the international media, there were just seldom a mention of Iranian or Israeli link to the Annecy killings. The British media did go after the Iraqi al-Hilli family and were just as conspirational, without any facts or simple analysis, there must be a link to the billions of Saddam Hussein and the Baath party stashed away in Switzerland or Caribbean tax havens.
The Iranian article, which I didn’t find, mentioned Yossi Ben Hanan in Paris. That is not speculative, he is operating within France for businees opportunities between France and Israel.

Who’s showing what at Paris Air Show

Major Gen. [Res.] Yossi Ben Hanan is on record as having witnessed Dagan killing his captives in a heinous way. What about Israel and its media? I had provoked my readers by linking early on to the possibility of a Mossad hit on both Sylvain Mollier and Saad al-Hilli because of a possible collusion in espionage of Cézus/Areva secrets. However a long-shot, in the past 3,5 months the police investigation has been puzzling and has provided few to no answers to what took place that fatal afternoon.

Contrary to Iran speaking out, the Israeli media which is under military censorship was unusually silent. I did check on a daily/weekly basis and never was the Annecy murders mentioned. This too is worthwhile noticing. In my diary at Booman, there was one reaction from a journalist focused on Western media issues with Israel. That article is written in the attack mode accusing the western journalists and pundits of knee-jerk reaction to Israel, anti-Israel bias and of course the anti-semitism accusation. This too is telling us something. There are just too many coincidences of the persons present at parking Martinet when the shooting started. Which person holds the key to this heinous crime?

Alps murder: Truth about Saad al-Hilli’s’family feud’
BAGHDAD (The Telegraph) Dec. 23, 2012 – Journalist Colin Freeman visited Iraq and talked to family members of Saad al-Hilli.
The theory goes that Saad, a Shia Muslim who was strongly anti-Israeli and supportive of Iran and their Lebanese militia allies, Hizbollah, might have accessed sensitive technology secrets of use to Israel’s enemies.
“We used to discuss politics in our online conversations, and I was surprised by how radical he was – he was very supportive of Palestine, Hizbollah and Iran,” said Hussain. “If he tried to give his technology to one of those Middle Eastern powers, he would incur the anger of their rivals. I have no proof of this, but if he was stuck between them, there could be some consequences.”
Hussain al-Hilli points the finger at Israel, saying Mossad would not hesitate to wipe out anyone offering to help Tehran, just as they have done with scientists involved in Iran’s nuclear programme. Others, though, think that if Saad had been hawking secrets around, it is just as likely that he fell foul of those he was trying to sell them to, either because the deal went sour for some reason, or to silence him afterwards.
(The Independent) Dec. 25, 2012 – A targeted killing? Investigators are convinced that the murderer was already on the scene and could not have known the random itinerary of the holidaying al-Hillis that day. Investigations of a family quarrel or an Iraqi connection – exaggerated by some press reports – have come to nothing so far. The same goes for the French cyclist, Sylvain Mollier, who was trying out a new route and lost his way. Despite insistent reports to the contrary, French investigators say that they are “99.9%” sure that Mr Mollier was not the gunman’s prime target.
A professional killer? The gun was an antique: a Swiss army Luger from the 1920s or earlier. It fell apart in the gunman’s hands. Fragments of it were found at the scene. One of them has recently yielded a trace of DNA, which may yet help trace the attacker. On the other hand, that DNA may belong to Zainab al-Hilli, aged seven, who was beaten and left for dead.
