   Have thought about this — not that I’ve gotten anywhere, not surprising given the paucity of information released.  What I can’t get beyond is that it was an exceedingly unlikely location for the vacationing al-Hilli family to journey to either by design for sightseeing or by accident.  The entrance to that road is clearly marked that it’s narrow and an a dead-end for cars.  However, it was reported to be a frequently used cut-through path and road for cyclists.  Reports that I saw suggested that the British cyclist said that a car passed him as he approached the site which suggests that both cyclists were traveling from the road to the path, but that report could have been in error and they were traveling in the opposite direction from the path to the road.  

   The al-Hilli family was at the site some time before the first cyclist.  Up to an hour before but no less than half an hour before.  So, we can discount that the killer(s) arrived earlier and was laying in wait for al-Hilli.  What can’t be discounted is that it was a rendezvous.  With whom?  For what?

   Mollier and al-Hilli?  If so, why bring the family?  If it were some espionage hand-off rendezvous between the two, it seems unlikely that Mollier would have proceeded in the presence of al-Hilli’s family.

   Could it be Saad al-Hilli with family attempted to flee Britain and tried to escape with the money in his father’s Swis bank account? I still keep open the option he had a meeting set up with Sylvain Mollier at the isolated layby Martinet near Chevaline. The fact that SM was employed by Cézus/Areva has been negated by a lot of misinformation. The French investigators, family, colleagues and friends have been hiding behind a wall of silence. A politically motivated and foreign intelligence asassination still can’t be discounted.

   I definitely think Saad al-Hilli has been monitored by foreign intelligence especially since the Adlene Hicheur case I mentioned in earlier comments [Oui 12-28-2012 at 01:40:17]. Both had worked at Rutherford’s Laboratory. The intelligence “vetting” process is continuous and unrelenting. It is even possible secrecy concern was the reason SAH was let go from his contract work at SSTL.

   FIRST and FOREMOST, you can often discern events, etc. by assessing what is NOT BEING SAID, and by WHO is NOT talking! Sometimes translations exist when not one verbal cue is initiated. When you learn to “see” that language, understanding becomes more apparent, as does misunderstanding when cues are misread! A deaf person SEES FAR MORE than the average person!

   The conventional question of an unconventional crime “Who killed Saad Al-Hilli the British/Iraqi engineer and his family”

   Some many articles and analysis have been written and we know the details of this crime but the killer(s) remain a mystery.

   What made this case even more mysterious is the silence of the French police. Questions like: have they asked the only witness “Zainab” who was left near the car to face death, have they asked her about the murder(s). Did they ask her if she saw faces or were they wearing masks? The French police have not given us any of the details. Yet they have tried to stray us by giving many contradicting stories such as the feud between the Al-hilli brothers or a false connection between Saad and the previous Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and his fortune.

   All what was given were not facts and it is not the truth. Especially that the writer of this article had strong ties with Saad and this strong relationship continued until few months before Saad was killed.

   [He then gives details about Saad’s family and their history in Iraq which I found irrelevant.]

   He talks about how he met Saad and his wife Ikbal in 2003 in Baghdad as Saad was there to follow up on a house his dad owned in Baghdad. He said that Saad struggled to prove ownership of the house and he even had a fist fight with the people who lived in that house but he finally managed to get it back. He also describes Saad as a very opinionated person who does not fear speaking his mind and who has a very strong will. (I think this is a nice way of saying stubborn a quality/vice most Iraqis are blessed with) He states that Saad has told him that the US has occupied Iraq and it is not liberation and that he supports Palestinians whom the US is against. The author says he was shocked as Saad has left Iraq as a young boy (7 tears old) but he still had typical, strong views about the US/Israel. He says ” I even advised him not to speak his mind so openly in the UK, but he neglected my advice.”
    He also states that in spite of having different points of views our relation continued to grow.

   He then talks about his visit to the UK as a CNN reporter where he meet Saad’s father Kathem who is a close relative whom he remembers from his early childhood. The author states that he has met the family twice and one of these meetings was at Saad’s house in Surrey in the presence of Saad, Ikbal, Kathem and Zaid (Saad’s brother) he says Saad’s opinions about the West (US/Israel) has not changed and that he also expressed strong opposing opinions to the Iraqi government at the time.

   He states that he did not meet Saad after that but they continued staying in touch through emails / Yahoo messenger and Face book and that the last time he spoke to Saad was one month before his death on FB.

   He says that he has never asked Saad about what he does for a living; and that Saad has met his family in Jordan in 2006 but he was not present. The author states that their communication continued, not only his but their fathers as well until Saad’s dad passed away in 2011 in Spain.

   He said the last time he spoke to Saad was in Feb. 2012 and he did not hear about him until he heard about the sad/shocking accident in Annecy.

   He continues: the first thing that came to my mind why was Saad killed in a way that seems like a professional hit? Then the second question that came to my mind was “what was Saad doing in London all these years” What was his job?

   I knew Saad’s views. I knew he hated Israel, he was very sympathetic with the Palestinians and that he does not see Iran as a threat. I knew he had these opinions but people do not get assassinated in the west because of their opinions or beliefs UNLESS they translate these words/ideas into acts. Has Saad done that? Then what was Saad’s job, I read that he was an engineer at Surrey Satellites and that his company has kept silent about the type of work Saad did. He states that it is also very weird that the Iraqi media announces the same day that Saad was killed that Iraq will produce a satellite with pure Iraqi minds and hands.

   He then gives detail accounts of assassination of Iraqi brains and links it to intelligence/special operations in different countries including the Mossad.

   He then states the question” Did Saad feel he was in danger?” He mentions that Saad has told him that he was not happy living in the UK and that he wanted to move back to Iraq but that his daughters were too young.

   The author also mentions that Saad has told him that THEY plan on making big changes in the middle east and that his Skype ID was stolen. He mentions part of the conversations they have had.

   The author states that even if the French found out who were the killers that they would not announce it as it may mean that it is an organized crime inside France and this is something that endangers national security. We will definitely hear a lot about family feud, relation with Saddam and his fortune but he states (in my opinion) we will never hear neither from the French nor the English in the near future, about who killed Saad and his family and why.

   Maybe private media / forums / investigators will be the first to answer the question: WHO KILLED SAAD ALHILLI.

   Sitemeter reveals IP address of server location of provider linked to readers. Interesting to find out a few locations are in desert regions of the US, Bahrain and Israel. In some instances the IP address appears to reveal an intelligence service.  Other instances, the IP link is hidden and “Unknown” appears on the listing.

   Locations as Southern Governate Bahrain – Central Informatics Organisation or a military complex Ames Research Center at Moffett Field in California. When you live on an estate, it may even reveal the individual as this example in Switzerland. This global interest continues daily and my first dairy has been shared  314 times of which an uptick of 43 in the last 10 days!

   Marilyn your blog has become a center piece of trust and a great discussion with some depth. A jewel to continue into the new year. I fully agree with the above contributors.

    That has been my assumption also and we have looked at other venues which led nowhere. What would have been so important for SAH and SM to meet in person that could not have been exchanged in digital form? Just about any document can be digitalized, names of nuclear scientists or CRIIRAD “secrets” could have found its way to Dubai, Baghdad or Teheran. In France the large group of immigrants from North Africa and the Middle-East makes an exchange of data and transport easy.

    In the line of work of Saad al-Hilli, he could have been under MI5 watch and all movements and travel plans scrutinized. If Sylvain Mollier did indeed do work for CRIIRAD, these memebers most certainly would be followed closely by France DSGE intelligence. Just look at the links above, the group works closely with Greenpeace on the nuclear contamination issue in France and Niger (Aréva mining).  We all remenber what the fate was of the Rainbow Warrior with later no regrets by the French leadership. DCGE agents were promoted after their brief imprisonment on a Pacific island. Although Israel and the Mossad might have been interested in the job, I believe it to be executed at the local French/Swiss level. The gun used and forensics should indicate the killer’s origin.
