Happy Anniversary! I don’t know how long I’ve been here. I started reading you and Balloon Juice at about the same time, but I know it’s been since before Obama was running for President the first time. Maybe earlier?
Been around long enough to be part of the Welcome Wagons before the pie wars and the influx of new members from 1,000 to 1,500 in a matter of days/weeks. How time flies and how appreciative we can be with the re-election of Obama. Great hope in relation to the darkness of 2004.
I’ve been around since the Daily Kos pie fight caused a number of blogs to start up. Don’t know if that was when BooMan Tribune started or whether that’s just when I noticed it.
Who would have thought back then that Karl Rove would degenerate into irrelevancy instead of being frog-marched to face criminal charges.
But we did learn two things from him:
Do the math
Hit them at their strength
Quite a bit different environment then than now when we have two parties in Congress: the Nosethumbers and the Thumbsuckers. But those categories are beginning to be bipartisan.
I think I’ve been coming here since the beginning. I definitely remember seeing BooMan diaries at DKos around that time, when I decided that I was tired of what that site had become. (Man, I miss the old Movable Type Daily Kos. Markos was a great blogger back in the day.) The frog pond looked like the perfect replacement for DKos, so I dropped the one for the other. Only rarely would I go back.
It has been a blast. Wish I could be around more and contribute…pero I do check in everyday. Thanks for all you do to frogmarch the loons, BooMan et al
5 years. as you may discern from my username, I registered with the site when I was 31. I’m 36 now.
happy anniversary, between u and al Giordano at the field (when he was a little more active over there) have kept me sane and I’m betting y’all keep me sane for the next 3 years
Certainly I have become a lurker, but I’ve been around since at least October of 2005, which is when I posted my first diary. I still read here every day that I can make it, but I used to have more to say, I guess.
Earliest hotlisted diary – April, 2005. First comment IIRC, Aug. 25, 2005 in the cafe, kansas was hosting. I must have signed up for my UID just before that. Happy Anniversary and thanks for all the flies;-)
Happy anniversary booman. Been around since the minute you started this blog. I tried to be the first person to sign up but think I’m user 34. I know I had to wait at the computer around midnight I think to try and be one of first ones to sign up.
My first post was in January 2006, and I must have lurked for a pretty long time before that. So, at least 7 years, maybe pretty close to the beginning. I wonder how I got here. Probably DKos, although I thought it had been longer than 7 years since I stopped going there.
Been reading this blog daily since the Democratic primary fight of 2008. My sister is also a daily reader, but she just lurks. Your blog is frequently a topic of conversation when we talk on the phone. Happy you’re here, Booman.
I was a lurkin’ round the edges longer and that may have been the push for registration. Doesn’t seem that long. Forgot about the welcome wagon threads :).
Since about the middle of ’05 I think. I started out as ignorant bystander. Changed to budr in ’08.
I started reading DKos after the ’04 election, trying to figure out what the hell went wrong. Some guy named Boo Man something kept writing these really perceptive diaries that made more sense than anybody else’s. When I found out he had his own blog I jumped over here and found a home.
And I would still like to see Rove do the frog march. Him and about half the Cheney administration.
Checking in on the roll call: Been here from the beginning and will be with you to the end… or my death, whichever occurs first. I continue to rely upon your insight, respect your intellect and admire your common sense. In all these years, I’ve only been angry with you for one short period and quickly got over it. That’s quite an accomplishment for a political blog writer. Generally, piss me off badly and I’m gone. Consistently outrage me and I delete your bookmark. Bore me and I forget to click your link. Oh but, my dear Martin, I’ve been hitting your page multiple times a day for eight solid years! Congratulations!
been around about that long—was reading and commenting on blogs since 2004, but I think I’ve been around here since ~2007 at least.
Since the very beginning.
Damned, 8 years…
Whoa! User ID #134! A founder indeed!
a few in here.
Check Manny!
Happy anni and may you have many more. Even us annoyingly contentious ones need a virtual homeplace.
Been around a long time.
Happy Anniversary! I don’t know how long I’ve been here. I started reading you and Balloon Juice at about the same time, but I know it’s been since before Obama was running for President the first time. Maybe earlier?
I like it here. I’m glad you’re here.

Congratulations on your two terms.

A couple months before the march on D.C. I think. Thanks for keeping up the fight Booman. I check this blog every day.
Summer-Fall of 2007, so going on 6 years. I didn’t make an account until later, though.
and you’re not yet convinced that I’m a total asshole. I guess I’m doing okay.
Nope. As frustrating as you are sometimes, you’re still the best blogger who can explain what I need to know.
So far, so good .
I joined sometime in 2006, though I’m not entirely sure when. Probably in the summer, subsequent to meeting you and CabinGirl and Luan at Philly DL.
Looking back at my comments, the first was Jan 4 2007, on a post about John Negroponte. Over 400 comments, have made I. Golly!
Good on ya, BooMan, for keeping up the fight. Congrats.
It has been a blast. Wish I could be around more and contribute…pero I do check in everyday. Thanks for all you do to frogmarch the loons, BooMan et al
Hey old timers, does Geritol work? How about that prostrate? Just jumped aboard last fall.
Haven’t seen Geritol for a long time. And my prostate is definitely not prostrate (Saw Palmetto). Can’t say the same about the rest of me.
You know that commercial where they say, “Men, do you have a problem getting your urine to start flowing?”
My answer is, “Hell no, please make it STOP.”
Congratulations, Boo. Here’s to 80 more.
How about a donate link while everyone is drunk on the blogoversary punch?
pretty much since the beginning. it’s been, and continues to be, an interesting ride.
congrats!
Hey dada
Nice to see you.
It must be almost exactly five years as a regular reader; this is one of the blogs I started following closely during the Democratic primary in ’08.
Me, too. Looks like those of us who joined at that time have UIDs in the 7,000 range.
It was June of 2005 – lurked before then but my first comment/diary was in June of 2005.
Congratulations Booman, it’s getting better all the time.
Nearly since the beginning, probably 2002 when Democrats were wimping out and I knew they were wrong but not how to articulate it.
My first blog was TPM.
5 years. as you may discern from my username, I registered with the site when I was 31. I’m 36 now.

Can’t remember, but I’m user #5175 which is lower than MNPundit so it was probably 2004?
Correction – 2001? Can’t be. Can you tell by my user number, Boo?
It would have to be after 13 March 2005 (the first day of BT). As I recall, UIDs were up to about 3500 before the end of 2005.

Maybe 2006 then. I really don’t remember. I was going by MNPundit’s guess.
Someone on Kos posted a link to the Frog Pond and I was hooked. Can’t remember the year, though.
Congratulations BooMan! I’ve been here a little while.
Happy 8th Booman. I cannot get enough of your observations. Please continue for another 8 years, at least !

Happy Blogoversery, BooMan

Happy anniversary!!!
Not sure of the date, but at least a year before I brought Andrew home in 2005.
2007ish, during the primaries and have read faithfully ever since. Thanks for creating such an awesome community as well.
Happy anniversary booman. Been around since the minute you started this blog. I tried to be the first person to sign up but think I’m user 34. I know I had to wait at the computer around midnight I think to try and be one of first ones to sign up.
The value of your blog is beyond measure to me.
And thanks manny for reminding us.
Thanks for bieng the sanest voice in the progressive blogosphere.

Forever, just like everything else in the universe.
Been reading this blog daily since the Democratic primary fight of 2008. My sister is also a daily reader, but she just lurks. Your blog is frequently a topic of conversation when we talk on the phone. Happy you’re here, Booman.
Quite a long time. Before the pie war, for sure.
Here’s to many more.
As I recall, membership got a great boost from #1,000 to #1500 – Sun. June 12, 2005.
I was a lurkin’ round the edges longer and that may have been the push for registration. Doesn’t seem that long. Forgot about the welcome wagon threads :).

Happy anniversary, BooMan! Glad you’re still kicking (ass).
I still check the site daily but have mostly become a lurker. First joined in mid 2005 as part of the Great Pie War Exodus.
More of a lurker than poster, but your tab is always up, and a daily visit. I’m fond of sanity.
Hope you had a Happy!
I lurked for a good while before that. Came via My Left Wing if I remember correctly.

Wow…8 years sure does fly! Glad to see you are still around.
