   Mitt Romney is heading to Jackson Hole, Wyo., for another high-dollar fundraiser. But this isn’t just with Wall Street executives or those vying to be his running mate. Instead it is to be hosted by former Vice President Dick Cheney and those coughing up $30,000 each — or $60,000 for a couple — get to dine with Cheney and his wife, Lynn, at their Jackson Hole residence, according to the invitation. Cheney’s daughter Liz will also attend.

   While at the State Department, Elizabeth Cheney oversaw efforts to develop regime-change strategies in places like Syria and Iran, efforts closely in line with the “war on terror” agenda developed by neoconservatives.

   Liz Cheney and her husband have bought a home in Jackson Hole, a move likely to fuel speculation that the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney has political aspirations in her family’s home state of Wyoming. Public records filed recently and obtained by The Associated Press reveal the home sale in Wilson, a posh enclave a few miles west of Jackson.The four-bedroom, four-bathroom log home sits on 2.4 acres and boasts views of the Teton Range.

   Wyoming would be much better off to kick Liz out of the contender pool and go for Alan Simpson’s son as long as we’re talking family business.

       I used to go to Cody every Sept for their Rendezvous Royale arts festival. The Bill Cody Museum is absolutely remarkable. On my way there I had to fly on a puddle jumper the last leg and it was a stormy nasty night. One of the last people on board was Alan Simpson. Sitting next to me was a native of Cody. She exclaimed, “Oh, now we’re safe, Mr. Simpson always takes care of us”. I was a little shocked but then the winds died down and we had a beautiful flight…

       In town, people often talk of him, his cowboy bluntness, straight shooter get things done kind of attitude so I’m thinking if his neighbors like the old man and that the Rep party didn’t choose his son, he’s a better person from a better family than Liz’s anyday.

   Liz on President Obama:

   He believes in greater redistribution of a much smaller pie. If you’re unsure of what this America would look like, Google GOOG -1.06% “Cyprus” or “Greece.”

   Ha ha! Not a very good example, Liz, just a well worn talking point. How about a peek at our Scandinavian friends while you’re at it? Take a really good look at Iceland while you’re in the neighborhood.
