Mr. Bryan Fischer, nut job emeritus of the American Family Association, designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center did not specifically use the word genocide in discussing his belief(?) that teh Gay will persecute all the good little white Christians as part of their diabolical plot to destroy America. He did use the N word, however (no the other N word):
“So we’re getting to the point — I don’t know what the emblem would be — remember when the Jews in Nazi Germany, they had to wear a yellow Star of David on their sleeve? I mean, we’re getting to the point now, that’s what they’re going to make us do.”
“I don’t know what the symbol would be, I’d have to think about that,” he continued. “We’re getting to the point where these homofascists are going to force us to wear on our sleeves some kind of identifying marker so people will know who the racists and the homophobes and the bigots are, and can stay away from them.”
Nazis? Homofascist? A Star of David badge. Really Mr. Fischer? You want to go there? Because the history of the Nazi regime and the Holocaust was not limited to the extermination of the Jews. Nor were they the only people who had to walk around with a little badge on their sleeves so people would know who qualified for transport to a slave labor ir death camp. It just so happens that another group was forced to wear silly little badges to identify themselves as enemies of the Volk suitable for slave labor at best, eradication by state execution at worst. Here’s a picture of the badge the Nazis made them wear:
Those people forced to wear the upside down pink triangle, Mr. Fischer, were homosexuals, and thousands of them were imprisoned and killed by the Nazis during the 12 year reign of the Third Reich. The history of their persecution is commemorated at the United States Holocaust Museum, by the way. I’m guessing you already know this, but just in case you don’t here’s what the United States Holocaust Museum’s website has to say about how the Nazis treated the people you are claiming are the coming wave of fascism in America.
The Nazi campaign against homosexuality targeted the more than one million German men who, the state asserted, carried a “degeneracy” that threatened the “disciplined masculinity” of Germany. Denounced as “antisocial parasites” and as “enemies of the state,” more than 100,000 men were arrested under a broadly interpreted law against homosexuality. Approximately 50,000 men served prison terms as convicted homosexuals, while an unknown number were institutionalized in mental hospitals. Others—perhaps hundreds—were castrated under court order or coercion. Analyses of fragmentary records suggest that between 5,000 and 15,000 homosexual men were imprisoned in concentration camps, where many died from starvation, disease, exhaustion, beatings, and murder.
Others put the number of deaths much higher. Unfortunately, Nazi records are not specific as to the reason many people were imprisoned so we will likely never know how many people died because of their sexual orientation. It’s true that many more Jews were killed, but this does not lessen the horror of the fate of those gay men whom the Nazis persecuted. To suggest that the fight for marriage equality and other civil rights for gay, lesbian, bisexuals and transgender people is the equivalent of Nazi persecution of the Jews is absurd and outrageous.
But I guess you don’t really care about the facts of Nazi persecution of homosexuals, do you. You earn your living ginning up fear and hatred of “teh Gay” among people who profess to be Christians, because fear and hate sells better than love and acceptance. So if someone, having heard your sordid, dishonest little diatribe that gay “homofascists” are poised to persecute Christians just like the Nazis persecuted Jews, goes out and bullies a gay teenager, or beats down a gay man or woman, or murders a transgendered person, well, that wouldn’t be any skin off your nose, would it?
May you enjoy your stay in Hell, you son of a bitch.
