Wolf kept saying, ‘are you sure Fran?’ but good old Homeland Security Townsend stood her ground. Until she didn’t. Then I love how she blames the sources for misunderstanding.
MSNBC’s Pete Williams is the one to trust on this. Isikoff is right there with him.
There’s a news audience for first and wrong. It’s more exciting than slow and correct. Hell, in this country, wrong gets more rewards than right in most aspects of our lives.
From a comment a few minutes ago, it’s not looking like a minor incident:
My cousin lives nearby. She has a police scanner. Here is her report: There are at least 30 people injured in the nursing home. They are calling for help from Temple, Killeen, and as far away as Dallas County as well. It is really, really bad. They are trying to evacuate the entire town of 3,000. It is still burning out of control at this point and they have set up a triage at the football field for helicopters. A large portion of the town was leveled. Houses were knocked off their foundations and they felt it as far away as Arlington – 80 miles away. One person in Grosebeck – east of here, Cleburne, Glen Rose, etc. that stuff is so volatile. We are hearing there was a fire at the plant to begin with that likely ignited it. The middle school is on fire as is an apartment complex and the nursing home with people trapped inside. They haven’t even mentioned fatalities, and you know there are some. Responders are coming from everywhere.
While I saw replays tonite on MSNBC of the rush by the other cable networks to be the first out of the gate with the story of the arrest of a bombing suspect, around 7 I did see a bit of Erin Burnett’s reporting from in front of the courthouse in Boston where the cancelled FBI briefing was to occur.
She and John King, he who earlier had described the never materialized bombing suspect as a “dark skinned male,” were moaning about the FBI delaying and then cancelling the promised briefing. Both of those things were dog whistles to racism in an effort to steal audience share from Fox. Before I switched channels, Burnett was floundering for something to say and there was lots of dead time. I don’t know what’s going on at CNN, but it’s sadly revealing that their anchors and reporters are so desperate that they will run with stories they’ve not vetted, with the result that the only impression one is left with is that they are desperate and operating under enormous pressure. From their new boss, perhaps?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Can Wolf Blitzer retire and leave us alone already? Jesus…

Moran of the day, Steven??? You give them too much credit.
CNN is a moran network EVERY DAY!!
CNN is apparently the only one with a feed to report on explosion at TX fertilizer plant.

Isn’t this the channel that some guy from Disney took over? Entertainment vs. news.
