The MB organisation has shown its true color as extremist working for the party and not for the good of the country. The Egyptian people found it imperative to stop President Morsi before more damage was done to the 2011 Revolution. The ideals of the revolution need to be realized in a democratic manner with an inclusive policy, not by imposing a fanatic religious leadership throughout the nation by appointments in the media, governorship and writing sharia law into Egypt’s constitution. The strategy of violence and authoritarian rule by the Muslim Brotherhood has taken a hit not only in Egypt, but also with Hamas in Gaza, Erdogan in Turkey and the new emir of Qatar. It seems US policy under Hillary Clinton is dead, with the appointment of a new team, the Obama administration has re-aligned itself with the most powerful ruler of Sunni Islam and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

Yes, Morsi took the limelight and remember Hillary “begging” support from Morsi in Cairo. Clearly Morsi made a lot of enemies in that time period negotiating for a peace settlement!

Al Qaradawi role in Tamim’s Qatar sparks debate
Qataris defend the new emir’s embrace of controversial cleric

MANAMA, Qatar (Gulf News) – The old man was assisted by an aide as he walked up to the former and new emirs of Qatar to offer his congratulations on the peaceful transition at the top of the state and the hand-over of power.

The Emiri Court in Doha was filled with well-wishers, but Shaikh Yousuf Al Qaradawi [point of view ADL] was taken directly to Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and Shaikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the outgoing emir and the new emir.

The father promptly moved forward and kissed the frail-looking man in a gesture that indicated the deep trust the two men have developed over the years. The scholar then moved to the son, 33, the youngest ruler of an Arab country. Shaikh Tamim planted a kiss on Al Qaradawi’s head and then his shoulder.

The images beamed live on state television immediately sparked a lively debate on social media and microblogs and questions abounded on the meaning of the gesture.

EU violates principles with Egypt coup reaction, Turkish PM Erdogan says

(Hürriyet News) – The European Union has once again disregarded its own principles with its “double-standard” view on unfolding events in Egypt, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said July 5.

“Especially the European Union disregarded its own values once again by not calling the army’s coup a coup. I want them to read the EU acquis communautaire. Democracy does not accept double standards,” the prime minister said in an apparent reference to member countries’ harsh criticisms of the Turkish government’s crackdown on Gezi Park protesters last month.

The United Nations, the United States, the European Union and world powers did not condemn Morsi’s removal as a military coup. The prime minister also praised the African Union’s step to suspend Egypt’s membership after the ouster of Mohamed Morsi on July 3.

Erdoğan said democracy must be swiftly implemented in Egypt and all political segments must join elections. “Those who exert efforts to cover up coups and remain silent to them, were as responsible as the coup makers,” he said, giving examples in Turkish history.

Britain deported radical cleric Abu Qatada to Jordan after fierce 10 year battle in courts

(Sky News) – After a decade-long battle to deport him from the UK, the radical cleric arrives in Jordan where he will face terrorism charges. Home Secretary Theresa May told Sky News that she was “very pleased” to have finally succeeded in deporting Qatada.

Abu Qatada left RAF Northolt in west London on a military plane bound for Jordan to stand trial on terror charges. “He is now where people wanted him to be – which is not in the UK, but back in Jordan,” she said.

It marks the end of an eight-year legal battle to remove the radical cleric, who the Government has described as a “truly dangerous individual” and a “key player” in al Qaeda-related terrorism.

Obama frowns on Egyptian army’s alignment with Gulf regimes, coming crackdown on Muslim Brotherhood

(DebkaFile) – The Muslim Brotherhood’s top leadership was more or less decapitated when the army seized power Wednesday, July 3. Next, the generals plan to send security forces to fan out across the country for mass arrests of thousands of local activists. They will be confined in detention centers already in preparation. By this action, Gen. El-Sisi will be treading in the footsteps of Gemal Abdul Nasser in the fifties and Anwar Sadat in the seventies. Those rulers kept thousands of Muslim Brotherhood national and field operatives in pirson and under tight control for years before gradually letting them out on condition they did not run for office.

The army chief, while bracing for Washington’s condemnation, is also assured of approval by the Gulf rulers led by the Saudi royal house. Likewise, if the US cuts off or reduces military aid to Egypt, currently running at $1.3 billion a year, the Egyptian strongman has Gulf guarantees to make up the difference.
