What Paulista Problem?

Based on the chart in this piece, the Democrats in Nevada have lost 35,000 registered voters since the 2012 election and the Republicans have lost 24,000 voters. The drop-off is understandable and happens in nearly every off year, but there is nothing in the numbers to suggest that the GOP is doing a particularly terrible job of registering voters. And, if they are, then the Democrats are doing an even worse job. Therefore, I don’t get the logic behind the rest of the article. If the Ron/Rand Paul folks who took over the Nevada Republican Party last year are so disorganized and clueless that the party needs to toss them out and emulate Harry Reid’s operation, then I’d expect the party to be doing worse than the Democrats in voter registration.

On the other hand, the Democrats have built up an 113,000 registered voter advantage, and the status quo is not good enough for the GOP. Still, considering the numbers used to support the argument, the article is stupid.
