I wasn’t there that night when George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin, so a lot of how I felt about the case had to do with a hunch I had about a man I have never met, let alone talked to. I admit, that’s not much to go on, but my hunch told me that Zimmerman was a liar with a violent streak. With news he has been arrested on domestic charges against his current girlfriend, my initial hunch seems to be firming up. Ever since his acquittal he has been having one run-in with the law after another. His wife left him and called 911 on him when he came by the house. Now it sounds like he beat up his girlfriend.
I take no pleasure in being right about this guy, but I do hope he winds up in prison soon, where he belongs.
The moral arch of the universe is long… and has a body count, sadly.
Hopefully he ends up like O.J. Spends a lot time in prison for reasons other than what he should be in prison for.
The man is so toxic that I doubt he spends any significant time in jail. I predict it will be some family member that puts him out of his misery.
In addition to being the type of person who has anger issues and a bully complex, Zimmerman also seems to be a perpetual victim: someone always provokes him or pushes him too far, and he of course has to respond violently.
I hope it doesn’t take another murder to send this guy away, but it looks like that’s what it’s going to be.
if imprisoned he will actually be a victim…my guess is rape victim, but could be worse.
Isn’t that why people want him in prion? People over at Kos were excited because he would be killed in prison rather quickly. That’s what a lot of people have been actively rooting for.
If the guy lands in prison he’s either going to be stuck in solitary for life, or he’ll endure a very short and brutal existence before a violent death at the hands of the other inmates. Those killings are often more horrific than we talk about.
I can’t speak for the people at Kos, but I think everybody agrees that they want to see Zimmerman get what he deserves.
Which is what? Rape? Death? The fuck is wrong with you people…
You gotta admire his speed. He’s not divorced yet, left his wife 2-3 months ago, and he already has a girlfriend to beat up. That’s a man who doesn’t sit around. He’s a piece of crap, but speedy…
no shock in the least
GZ had a history of domestic violence even before he k1lled TM. The judge wouldn’t allow it into evidence. And as I recall one of his female cousins stated that GZ had raped her repeatedly over the course of many years. That too was not allowed. So this is the result, a cold blooded killer is on the streets terrorizing women.
Could see that bit of news coming a mile away. Regrettably, it’s only a matter of when, rather than if, he will kill again. Also a good reminder that the sort of cookie-cutter stand-your-ground laws that ALEC pushed on quite a number of states were a truly awful idea as well, and the consequences of those laws were pretty foreseeable as well.
Awww Boo. Cut him some slack. He probably walked into the house and got caught by surprise when he found his girlfriend wearing a hoodie. Would have been hard to tell that she wasn’t black person under there. Hey, an easy mistake.
My earnest desire for Mr. Zimmerman is that he be assigned to an urban contemporary cellmate who wears a size 19 shoe and feels a little frisky…
I, too, hope Zimmerman lands in prison soon, before he kills someone else.
At the same time, I am sickened by our prison system where people are confined in places where they can be repeatedly raped. How is that not cruel and unusual punishment?
Unfortunately the pendulum may swing hard against GZ this time rather than have taken a steady swing in the TM case. Like Simpson, justice the first go round would have been better all the way round.
The 911 tapes this time, both from the girlfriend and George demonstrate that he is one cold blooded liar and as she states, he knows how to play the system. That’s now all up for the record and this victim isn’t dead and today she didn’t seem to follow the ex wife’s lead to back down from charges.
He alone has destroyed his own credibility.
His own statement to the 911 operator;
“The police is already there and so why are you calling? What happened?” the dispatcher asked.
Zimmerman replied, “I just want everyone to know the truth.”
will backfire.
He really deserves to be locked up.

I was having the same conversation tonight with my husband over a different case. He isn’t much interested in the legal system and couldn’t understand why I was so upset that another person in similar circumstances (the ability to afford a high priced lawyer) won his case. The same person with a public defender would be facing years in prison. My husband wanted to know why I felt that way. I said because public defenders don’t have access, time, or the staff that the high priced lawyers do and are therefore more apt to recommend a plea deal.
