I have different reasons than your average tea partier for wanting to see Sen. Lindsey Graham drummed out of Congress, but it doesn’t look like we will get our wish. My main beef with Graham is his neo-conservatism on foreign policy. The tea partiers are more likely to oppose his support of Obama’s Supreme Court nominees and, especially, his willingness to enact comprehensive immigration reform.
I welcome some of his heterodox views on issues, but I think he is a menace anyway. He’s basically the Joe Lieberman of the Republican Party, and their seeming inability to regurgitate him is a sign of weakness.
Gentleman? You are too kind!
I’ll believe that Lindsay Graham is actually going to vote for meaningful immigration reform only after a squadron of flying pigs is seen looping the loop over a blue moon. The guy is so pathetically incapable of taking a stand on any sort of meaningful principle that he makes a jelly in an earthquake look inflexible.
He already voted for it. The Senate passed it.
The key word is “meaningful”. The Senate may have passed it – but it was obvious that the House wasn’t going to go anywhere near a real immigration bill. It’s one of the oldest tricks in the book.
Ms. Lindsey needs to go and sit on a porch somewhere.
