Eric Cantor has announced that he is resigning from Congress on August 18th. He called on Governor Terry McAuliffe to have a special election on Election Day in November to fill out the lame duck portion of Cantor’s term. This would give the new representative a little added seniority over next year’s freshman class. Cantor also expressed support for the man who defeated him in the Republican primary, Professor Dave Brat.
It is time for Cantor to cash in.
What’s the wait period for upping with a lobbying firm? He’s just getting a jump on other congressfools who are also looking to push to the troff. He’ll be there 2 months before them.
If I remember correctly, he can join a lobbying firm right away, he just can’t be an official lobbyist for a while.
Why not just call himself a historian or a law advisor?
I can’t believe it’s taken him this long.
For someone who claimed to dislike wasting the people’s money, a special election is quite a bit of punctuation upon which to end your career.
Y’mean…he hasn’t cashed in already?
Oh.
You mean cash in even more.
Oh.
Sorry.
Nevermind.
