If Zephyr Teachout somehow beats Andrew Cuomo, I may never stop laughing. She just received the endorsement of the Sierra Club and the National Organization for Women. Of course, virtually no one even knows who she is and she doesn’t have the money she’d need to introduce herself. My assumption is that she will get absolutely drubbed.

Meaning what, 80-20? What if it’s 65-35?
Would such an mega-upset be enough to throw DC Democrats into a tizzy?
(There’s still a few days left for prosecutors to charge Cuomo with a few crimes, but would that be enough for NY liberals/Democrats to shun him?)
As someone who is not into NY politics, even the Democratic ones, I’ve never gotten why Cuomo was ever elected. He just comes across as a rather ham fisted politician with none of the charisma that his Father had. And, he doesn’t seem to have any real progressive principles.
Re Teachout, I’ve seen her interviewed a couple of times and find her credible and competent.

Because of his last name and party elites hating party primaries.

Abercrombie, who is basically a decent liberal (which Cuomo isn’t), pissed off many of the same constituencies as Cuomo and got slaughtered in his re-election primary by a not well known pol.
Honestly, I believe that many folks are not even aware that Cuomo is up for reelection.
I’m in the NYC area, and there is NOTHING in the news about the primary. I had to mark my calendar with the date.
