I spent the past four days in Montreal, visiting with the boy-child for Canada Thanksgiving, which corresponds with our holiday honoring that awful Columbus fellow. Since I don’t get my little Canadian for American Thanksgiving, he typically comes down for the Canadian holiday. But last year I introduced Sam to running, and there’s a race his school participates in over the long weekend, so I’ve made the trip north instead the past two years running. He did a lot better this year than last year -came in 22 out of the top 25, and was 44 out of 125 boys his age.
I can’t recommend a visit to Montreal highly enough: the food is great, the people are nice, and the beer is delicious. Sure, it’s frozen during winter, but spring-fall is just lovely. So I’m thinking French music today, with a little Francoise Hardy. No, she’s not from Quebec…but who cares when the song is this good?
A bientot…
