It’s Missouri again!

Jefferson County official says she meant ‘no ill intent’ to Obama in Facebook post | St. Louis Post-Dispatch |

Jefferson County recorder of deeds, Debbie Dunnegan, said in her post from early last week:

“I have a question for all my friends who have served or are currently serving in our military … having not put on a uniform nor taken any type military oath, there has to be something that I am just not aware of. But I cannot and do not understand why no action is being taken against our domestic enemy. I know he is supposedly the commander in chief, but the Constitution gives you the authority. What am I missing? Thank you for your bravery and may God keep you safe.”

The group Progress Missouri posted Dunnegan’s status on its website on Friday under the headline “JeffCo Recorder Asks Why Military Hasn’t Ousted Obama Yet,” saying that “Jefferson County voters deserve better.”

Dunnegan said she merely wanted to know what oath the military took to protect the country from enemies both foreign and domestic. “I meant no ill intent toward the president. I meant no ill intent toward anybody,” she said.

Dunnegan, a Republican, was elected as recorder of deeds in 2010 and is up for re-election next month.
