I hear that Time magazine chose the people who are working to stop the Ebola outbreak in Africa as their People of the Year. I assume this will offend the wingnuts who see them as the primary health threat here at home.

When I first saw the picture of people in hazmat outfits before I read the article I thought Walter White was the person of the year.
Booman,
OT.
Since yesterday I’ve been getting advertising or survey popups that replace your entire page. The address of the invader is ver-adt-cm.Vindicosuite.com
So far this is only happening when I’m on your site.
There’s a new virus out there.
I got it yesterday when trying to visit blogspot-hosted blogs. It seems to have disappeared.
Also got it yesterday on the some blogspot sites.
It started happening on Balloon Juice too. It was then I figured it might have something to do with my own computer. I discovered that my firewall had been disabled. As soon as I got it back on, the invasion stopped.
adaware up!
Ebola was only a threat to Real America’s bodily fluids until election day. Since then, it’s mostly become a non-issue for Real Americans.
Can’t think of any individuals or groups more deserving of this recognition this year. Those health care workers have been courageous. Many have lost their lives in their fight against Ebola for their patients.
Good for Time.
The number of cases now stands at a cumulative total of 17,000 or so and cumulative total of deaths is over 6000. Sierra Leone is the country in which the number of new cases has not turned down. Delivered funds are a third of pledges.
And West Africa lost another health care worker last week.
And WHO and the various organizations in Africa are slowly rolling out the needed healthcare infrastructure to cope with this outbreak. The ability to do the lab work to confirm a case within 24 hours is complete in all three hotspot countries. A total of 87% of the needed burial and sanitation team strength is in place. And once confirmed 97% of the contacts of identified cases receive daily visits for diagnosis of outbreak of symptoms.
In addition, WHO has a separate program to build the capabilities to cope with another outbreak rapidly in-country. In the US, there is an effort to provide hospitals with ebola response training.
