Just a few hours are remaining, the deadline for ending the P5+1 negotiations with Iran will likely confirm a deadlock in the negotiations. Either Iran accepts the terms of the most hawkish nations at the table, or a deal is off. Both France and the US have their client states in the Gulf and Israel who will push the envelop beyond the red Lines Iran has repeatedly stated it will not accept. Interview of their nuclear scientists, spot checks of Iran’s secret military compounds and the necessity of UN sanctions relief. Air Force Test Drops Inactive Nuclear Bomb in Nevada
The test was considered a success, with telemetry, tracking, and video data recovered and collected. Two more development flight tests are scheduled for the B61-12 Life Extension Program later in 2015.
The bomb was designed at the Sandia National and Los Alamos National Laboratories, and manufactured by the National Security Enterprise Plants. The hardware that mated it to the ESAF tail-kit assembly on the F-15E was designed by Boeing.
After it is refurbished and given an Air Force provided tail-kit assembly, the B61-12 will be used to replace the existing B61-3, -4, -7, and -10 bombs in the nuclear weapons stockpile.
