The James Holmes trial is at the top of the news today. (He’s the so-called Batman killer who murdered 12 people in a theater in Aurora, CO in 2012, just in case you are beginning [as am I] to get confused due to all of the various nutcase killers this country has seen over the past few years.)

But this post is not about James Holmes or his trial. It’s about the media coverage and quite possibly…I do not have the transcripts but neither do I have the time to slog through them…the information presented at the trial from both sides.

I read a CNN article about the trial today. The CNN company is just about as mainstream as U.S. news gets…I used to joke that CNN stands for CIA National News but now it’s more like Corporate National News…and the article is ostensibly about his fall from being a happy, gifted little boy to a totally out-there mass murderer. It is titled From happy boy to mass murderer: James Holmes’ life story weighed by jury. The article is roughly 2.600 words long…quite lengthy by current daily major media standards. It goes through the usual rubric of these bottled-for-repeated use media formulae…the happy childhood, the onset of troubles, etc. etc. etc. But it does not even mention the one aspect of the story that argues for mercy from the court in terms of life or death.

Read on for more.
It does not say a single thing about his doctor-prescribed psychoactive drug use.

Here is what the Denver Post printed on this subject in early 2013:

Police…found medications in his apartment, including ibuprofen, sedatives and the anti-anxiety drug clonazepam. They also found the antidepressant sertraline, the generic version of the antidepressant Zoloft.

Oh.

And who prescribed these drugs to him?

Thirty-eight days before the attack on the Century Aurora 16 movie theater, the psychiatrist treating suspect James Holmes told a police officer that her patient had confessed homicidal thoughts and was a danger to the public, according to newly unsealed court documents in the murder case against Holmes.

The psychiatrist, Dr. Lynne Fenton, also told the officer that Holmes had stopped seeing her and had been threatening her in text messages and e-mails, the documents state. The officer, Lynn Whitten, responded by deactivating Holmes’ key-card access to secure areas of University of Colorado medical campus buildings, according to search-warrant affidavits.

Oh.

More than a month before he went totally over the edge, the person who gave him the drugs that more than likely provided the final push that sent him over reported him to the police because she was afraid for her own life.

And he is on trial!!!???

She should be on trial.

The entire Big Pharma/Big Med/Big Insurance system should be on trial. He and the 12 he killed are just collateral damage.

The contemporary percentage of batshit-crazy mass murderers in the U.S. who were on so-called benevolent, prescribed-by-doctors drugs is very high.

35 School shooters/school related violence committed by those under the influence of psychiatric drugs

At least 35 acts of school-related acts of violence, including mass school shootings, have been committed by individuals taking or withdrawing from psychiatric drugs documented in 22 drug regulatory agency warnings to cause mania, psychosis, hostility, aggression and homicidal ideation.

Fact: At least 35 school shootings and/or school-related acts of violence have been committed by those taking or withdrawing from psychiatric drugs resulting in 169 wounded and 79 killed (in other school shootings, information about their drug use was never made public–neither confirming or refuting if they were under the influence of prescribed drugs).  The most important fact about this list, is that these are only cases where the information about their psychiatric drug use was made public.

The below list includes individuals documented to have been under the influence of psychiatric drugs and not only includes mass shootings, but the use of knives, swords and bombs. 22 international drug regulatory agency warnings cite side effects including mania, violence, psychosis and even homicidal ideation.

Uhhhh…what gives here?

I’ll tell you exactly what gives.

The corporate owned, corporate sponsored mass media of this country…particularly the daily news outlets on TV, in print and digitally distributed…depend on Big Pharma and Big Insurance advertising for a great deal of their financial support. End of story regarding anything even remotely critical of their combined scam.

“Scam?” you might well ask if you were a typical, eyes-wide-shut, media-blinded American?” What scam?”

The ongoing scam that pumps up prices for medical attention on every level to the point that almost any medical process of any sort is too expensive for most Americans unless they have serious…and thus expensive…health insurance. It’s a sort of pyramid game, and it’s been going on for more than 50 years. A little boost in prices here, a little there. Then more insurance is needed, which boosts prices more. On and on the pyramid rises, until it has gotten to the point that a case could very easily be made that the combination of Big Pharma, Big Med and Big Insurance is the most powerful financial force in the entire country, able to tamp down any mass media criticism of its actions better than can even the Banking/Wall St. mob or Big Automotive/Big Oil.

Whadda buncha maroons we have been to let this happen.

Whadda buncha maroons.

Later…
