According to my friends and family, this is POW-MIA Day in the military rah-rah holidays list. It has always seemed such a fraudulent movement, but it has made the many executive directors of POW-MIA organizations bunches of money and kept Americans planted in Vietnam as a result of a vicious lie to the families of those were blown away by combat.
Always the money, isn’t it? Never a shortage of charlatans.
Local p.o. here still flies the MIA-POW flag, just beneath Old Glory. I think it’s been there since I moved here 17 yrs ago.
