Well, I definitely felt like the Facebook gods were mocking me when I woke up this morning and saw this:
He should have turned 55 today. I can’t wish him a traditional happy birthday, but we can all listen to one of his favorite songs, and one that always made him smile.
Happy Birthday, big brother.
A timeless song. Wishing you peace and good memories of your brother.
Good song. Great brother. And today let the memories make you smile as well.
The wound is still raw, but try to remember the good times. Remember when you were kids, often rivals, but mostly playmates. A big brother who probably lorded over you (it’s one of their natural traits) but also watched out for you and kept bullies away. In time, you will remember these more and more and the pain will ease. I promise.
“Happy birthday, big brother.” Just reading that was enough to make me cry,. But he’ll always be your big brother and I am happy to join you in celebrating his birthday.
Andrew surely had good taste in music. I have never actually made the list, but I have always figured that this would be in my top 10 favorite songs of all time. It always feels like a happy song to me, even if the story being told in the song isn’t all happy times.
Big hugs, BooMan.
I’m on the same path with my big brother. He’s a big fan of that song too.

Good wishes to his memory and peace to you and your family. I’m of the age when lots of friends have already said their last goodbyes, including my parents and all the grandparents, so its a bit lonely at times. I’m lucky to have many younger friends too, though, so maybe I’ll be remembered for awhile after my time to leave rolls around.
So sorry about your loss, Booman.
thanks for PPL vid. I am sitting with my kuvsaz… named Amie at my feet.
The firsts are always hardest.
Thank you for sharing and remembering.
It’s my birthday today as well. Andrew was exactly one year younger.
Even though your brother has passed away he will never really be gone as long as you listen to songs, your memory of him and your heart. We carry loved ones in our hearts thus they continue on. Take time to remember some of those magical good times you have shared with him.
I wish you peace, sir.
So sorry for your loss, my friend.
