President Obama still plans to allow 10,000 Syrian refugees into the country over the next year, despite terrorist attacks in Paris, at top aide said Sunday.
“We’re still planning on taking in Syrian refugees,” White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said on “Fox News Sunday.” “We had very robust vetting procedures for those refugees.”
“There are women and children, orphans of this war, and I think we need to do our [part] along with our allies to provide them a safe haven,” he added.
“After full consideration of this weekend’s attacks of terror on innocent citizens in Paris, I will oppose any attempt to relocate Syrian refugees to Alabama through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. As your Governor, I will not stand complicit to a policy that places the citizens of Alabama in harm’s way,” Governor Robert Bentley said…
…“The acts of terror committed over the weekend are a tragic reminder to the world that evil exists and takes the form of terrorists who seek to destroy the basic freedoms we will always fight to preserve. I will not place Alabamians at even the slightest, possible risk of an attack on our people. Please continue to join me in praying for those who have suffered loss and for those who will never allow freedom to fade at the hands of terrorists,” Governor Bentley added.
Any questions?
You can add benevolent overlord Rick Michigan (h/t Michigan Liberal) to the list of cowards. Snyder gave himself an “out” by implying it’s just a “suspension” until the DHS “fully reviews its procedures.” Uh-huh. Weasel words from a true weasel. Michigan is well on the road to being the next Kansas and Kentucky; we’re just getting there a bit slower.
Did he freak out about the muslim city council?
Not publicly, but I’m sure there’s a lot of pants-shitting going on behind closed doors.
If they pass ordinances that violate people’s rigjts, take them to court. Same as happens when Christian dominated ciy councils do to atheists.
It’s not rocket science.
Alabama Gov forgets he lives in a glass house state
JE SUIS GRAYZONE
Steve M:
“
The restaurant workers live and work in the grayzone. The grayzone is what we need to sustain.
The jihadists want to destroy the grayzone. Mark Steyn thinks we’re deluding ourselves if we think we can sustain the grayzone.
The grayzone is real. It can endure. It can win out — but only if we prevent the jihadists and the Mark Steyns of the world from working hand in glove to destroy it.”
I can imagine the fearmongering fundraising emails going out to the base even as we speak
Doesn’t take them much effort to send out those emails. Pull in the standard template, fill in the appropriate blanks, send it out … and wait for the money to roll in.
Yeah. But mostly they’re rhetorical questions about the gutlessness of the current Republican Party and their base. They love to pretend it’s righteous anger, but they’re just cowards.
“Oh, we can’t help these people who are fleeing the chaos that we contributed to. It might be dangerous.”
No surprises in those reactions…
The notion that terrorists would bother with Alabama in any way, shape or form is pretty rich. They wouldn’t even want to HIDE there.
At least allow the women and children. Statistically theyre much less likely to be a threat.
But republicans cant even do that much.
Add Texas and Indiana.
Muslim immigration is a bad idea.
Here’s a present for you.
The Gray is a nice touch.
Snark, I’m guessing. otherwise, ancestors of the Muslims in Michigan were probably in the USA before your ancestors. iirc they arrived there during slavery time and predate the 19th century/ early 20th century immigration wave,
Even Massachusetts, unfortunately, though Gov. Baker (R) leaves the door open if proper vetting is instituted.
Once again, speaking for all current and former bedwetters, please stop comparing us to those cowardly assholes.
Due to elevated terror threat in Brussels, a measrure unheard of …
