Joe Frazier has died. He was Philadelphia’s greatest boxer and my favorite fighter of all time.
I actually worked with a guy at ACORN who had done some serious time in prison for some unspecified crimes. He told me a story about a time before prison when he and his friends got drunk and decided to mug someone. When they realized that they were trying to rob Joe Frazier, they couldn’t run fast enough.
He was totally rehabilitated and probably the best organizer I’ve ever worked with. This gives me a reason to look him up and see how he’s doing.
