Nothing makes people more suspicious than secret orders and secret societies. I remember reading a lot about how both George W. Bush and John Kerry had belonged to Skull & Bones at Yale. That was supposed to be proof that the game was rigged, as the Bonesmen were going to control the White House either way the 2004 election turned out. Going back a little further, I remember some people freaking out about how many Reaganites belonged to the secretive Bohemian Grove club in San Francisco.
Now, I had never heard of The International Order of St. Hubertus, which was apparently established at the 1966 summer retreat of the Bohemian Grove. Actually, that’s not quite right. The society’s U.S. chapter was launched in 1966, but the organization itself was founded in 1695 by the Habsburg Count, Franz Anton von Sporck.
Members of the worldwide, male-only society wear dark-green robes emblazoned with a large cross and the motto “Deum Diligite Animalia Diligentes,” which means “Honoring God by honoring His creatures,” according to the group’s website. Some hold titles, such as Grand Master, Prior and Knight Grand Officer. The Order’s name is in honor of Hubert, the patron saint of hunters and fishermen.
I’m not sure why a secret hunting society has a website, but what do I know?
In any case, Antonin Scalia was attending a retreat of this St. Hubertus society in Texas when he unexpectedly died in his sleep. As we know, the remoteness of the location combined with the fact that he died over the weekend meant that things were handled in an unorthodox way. His body wasn’t examined by a coroner or other professional before his death was certified as arising from natural causes. Because his family didn’t ask for one, no autopsy was performed. And now we find out that he traveled to this ranch with a member of this secret society.
Cibolo Creek Ranch owner John Poindexter and C. Allen Foster, a prominent Washington lawyer who traveled to the ranch with Scalia by private plane, hold leadership positions within the Order…
…From Houston, Scalia and Foster chartered a plane without the marshals to the Cibolo Creek Ranch airstrip. In a statement after Scalia died, the U.S. Marshals Service said that Scalia had declined a security detail while at the ranch…
…Two other private planes that landed at the ranch for the weekend are linked to two men who have held leadership positions with the Texas chapter of the Order, according to a review of state business filings and flight records from the airport.
And this C. Allen Foster guy? Who is he?
The friend, Louisiana-born Foster, is a lawyer with the Washington firm Whiteford, Taylor & Preston. He is also known for his passion for hunting and is a former spokesman for the hunting group Safari Club.
In 2006, Foster was featured in The Post when he celebrated his 65th birthday with a six-day celebration in the Czech Republic. He flew his family and 40 Washington friends there to stay in Moravia’s Zidlochovice, a baroque castle and hunting park. The birthday bash included “tours of the Czech countryside, wine tasting, wild boar and mouflon (wild sheep) hunts, classic dance instruction and a masked costume ball.”
A secretary at Foster’s law firm said he is traveling in Argentina. The firm’s director of marketing, Mindee L. Mosher, said Foster was traveling and she would try to contact him. A woman answering a phone associated with Foster hung up when asked for comment.
Here’s a link to that 2006 article in the Post about Foster’s lavish trip to the Czech Republic.
This story is pretty much tailor-made for the Alex Jones types. How could Scalia’s death not be suspicious under these circumstances?
Secret society, ancient European order, refused his security detail, no medical examination, no autopsy.
It’s all very intriguing, but it mainly interests me for what it says about Scalia and the company he kept.
He wasn’t exactly a man of the people, was he?
meh. These all male secretive gatherings aren’t exciting and border on silly. Oh, sure they probably do some deals that make them feel powerful but nothing that couldn’t be handled in their offices. They drink a lot and smoke cigars and tell each other raunchy stories and jokes.
Scalia either went out just as reported or the way Nelson Rockefeller did.
I would say the gatherings is more about fostering group identity then anything else. Identities and loyalties influences decisions, but that comes later.
These all male secretive gatherings aren’t exciting and border on silly.
You don’t think things like the scene portrayed in Eyes Wide Shut actually exist? What do you think that all hubbub about David Cameron fucking a dead pig was?
Didn’t see the movie. My take is based on attending almost exclusively male events and reports from men that attended like events when there were no women present. In the latter instance the men who shared their experiences with me were embarrassed by their own behavior at or during the events. They probably didn’t share everything, but what they did share fell so far short of pig fucking that I doubt they devolved that far.
Generally I chalk it up to men trying to recapture being boys. They enjoy it and likely not often truly disgusting on their part.
Girls prefer to go shopping or take in a chick flick.
Sounds like a buncha high-falutin’ vampires to me.
Quack!
Secret hunting society?
Is Cheney a member, and if so, where was he on the day Scalia died?
Going after the big game and moving up from lawyers to judges?
For Americans, everthing in Medieval Europe (pré 1492) must be creepy, dark, secret … St. Hubert is the patron saint of knights and hunters and his vision and encounter their universal emblem. The hunter’s fraternity (yes, all male!) has been a long established gilde throughout old and new Europe, it’s roots is in Catholicism. Was there anything else in those days? The powerful, elite … as SOTUS member, Scalia had to choose his “friends” carefully … Catholic, conservative, paternalistic. It would have been stranger if he was caught up in one of Cheney’s quail huntimg accidents, don’t you think?
Leonardo da Vinci died at Chateau Clos Lucé, on 2 May 1519 … buried in the Chapel of Saint-Hubert in Château d’Amboise along the Loire river in France. Da Vinci was a close friend to Francis I, King of France.
“In the Middle-Ages, an Order of knightly brotherhood (Rittersbruderschaft), reflecting the overlapping religious and military aspects of medieval court life was established too in Hubert’s honour as the patron saint of hunters and knights. The founding of the Order of the Golden Fleece in the early 15th century started a trend in confraternal princely orders. The purpose of these, whether established by monarchs or princes, was to foster loyalty to a sovereign, replacing the old Chivalric orders developed in the Crusades.” [Source: Legends of the Hunt]
Scalia died in 2016 in an era of social revolution in the Catholic Church during the reign of Pope Francis I. Scalia must have died a tormented follower of Christ. 😉
Et tu Martin, joined the CT society?
anything else in 1695? well maybe aside from Lutheranism, Calvinism, the Puritans, Geneva, the Scottish Presbyterians and Menno perhaps nothing
Hubert, eldest son of Bertrand, Duke of Aquitaine lived from (c. 656-727 AD). He was revered
soon after and the earliest gildes were founded before/during the Crusades. Looking at history
from the European Christian perspective … the other great religions were already established.
“Eastern Orthodox Catholics and Roman Catholics are the result of
what is known as the East-West Schism (or Great Schism) of 1054,
when medieval Christianity split into two branches.”
well, I was obviously referring to the founding of the society since I gave the date. but since we’re on the subject the patronizing attitude of europeans towards the usaian level of knowledge, environmentalism, or whatever, wears thin for me. ok, we’re a big country, we have lots of kinds of ppl, including David Duke. I travel a lot for work and it annoys and bores me no end to have europeans eurosplaining the inadequacies of my country to me.
Yawn!. Now I thought your comment was in reply to mine. Didn’t BooMan refer to a trip to the Czech Republic and St Hubert?
Getting a bit touchy on a topic dated pre-Columbus for you’ll immigrants. Wished the “Americans” come to grips with the democratic principles laid down by the Greeks and British. Society tends to fascism and that’s universal. On US military exploits overseas any understanding of culture or history seems to be lacking. Oh never mind, the expansion of empires is slowly pivoting to Asia … it’s just a matter of time. U.S. the 4.4% …
Chateau idlochovice is a hotel with modern congress center. It’s owned by the state, the Czech Republic. It has a rich history for trophy hunting, perhaps your C. Allen Foster can best be compared to another hunter tourist, dentist Walter Palmer.
Chateau idlochovice hunting among the best preserved castles in Europe and, together with the historical warrens and fields for deer creates a unique hunting complex, continuing a centuries-old hunting tradition of this territory.
The history of the castle begins in the 14th century mentions of water stronghold built on the Amber Trail, connecting the Mediterranean and Baltic coasts. In splendid form of the stronghold was gradually rebuilt medieval owners, among which the most notable families erotíns and Wallenstein. Fundamental reconstruction of the castle in the Baroque style carried-out by Filip Ludvík Sinzendorf (1696-1743), who also significantly influenced the development of hunting at the idlochovice estate.

Booman Tribune ~ Scalia’s Death Gets More Intriguing
I remember reading about it more as an illustration of how extremely narrow circles candidates for POTUS are drawn from. But it was long ago and what one remembers is not always what was written.
Yes. And while their little clubs may have red and blue teams, in the wider world they are all in the club and the “little people” aren’t.
The society’s U.S. chapter was launched in 1966, but the organization itself was founded in 1695 by the Habsburg Count, Franz Anton von Sporck.
See, this is what happens when you combine LARP, secret societies, Ninjas and sporks. It’s all fun and games until someone loses a supreme court judge.
spork, one of my favorite words
since the beginning, there’s been something fishy.
sounds right out of a Grisham novel.
Actually, this sounds like something dreamed up by Umberto Eco. He should be taking notes…
This DC lawyer has a pretty extensive travel schedule, it seems—did he even have time to attend the funeral of the dear-departed Order of St Hubertus alum? Argentina beckoned. Likely all tax deductible, of course. If he’s even spending his own money, ha-ha. And when is the examination into who paid for Uncle Scalia’s travel, room and board to the remote huntin’ ranch? But I guess that’s not really needed, is it?
Are the American elite the most nauseating in the world or is this sort of shit universal among them all? The vulgar and loathsome Rich American is a staple of English literature, of course…
Maybe the being in Argentina story is just a ruse and he’s really out hiking the Appalachian Trail.
But, but, but… Umberto Eco died less than one week after Scalia died. Coincidence?? Or devious plot!!11!!
Cue conspiracy theory replete with the spooky music…
“Deum Diligite Animalia Diligentes”
Also, too: “I love animals, that’s why I kill ’em!” (attr. M. Python)
I’m hunting them to save them…
So basically, knowing that he had a cluster of medical conditions that put him at risk for heart attack or stroke, Scalia chose to fly off on a private plane to a remote location where emergency treatment wasn’t available.
I’m ok with that. We all get a limited time. You can’t live life in a bubble, and we all pick what risks we take. Can’t blame the true believers in his cause for being a little frustrated with him, though.
I’m definitely ok with it!
Hillary CLinton smothered Scalia with a pillow. Bill then carried the body out and after conducting a Black Mass using Scalia’s entrails, they buried him next to Vince Foster.
I don’t understand why nobody else realizes this.
Buried in the Whitewater vicinity, no doubt.
Good guess, but it was Obama with a pillow in a locked cabin around Midnight.
Colonel Mustard revealed it the Library at high Noon.
Thanks, Obama!
What gets me is that this excursion was almost certainly a canned shoot. No ‘hunting’ involved.
They get their kicks off shooting animals in cages. It’s really quite sick.
.
Naw, no cages; the regal hunter sits in a blind while a crew of beaters drive the game into his sights. So ever much more sporting, doncha know.
/sarcasm
I’d hate to be one of the beaters, though. Especially if Dick Cheney wuz one of the shooters!!!
AG
P.S. I’d be interested to know the socio-economic/racial makeup of the beaters.
Texas?
Hmmmmm….
Nevermind.
Hopefully Opus Dei has been notified of his death.
If only this had been a meeting of the International Association of Sophistic Logic, where, I suspect, Scalia was a high priest. Love to see a copy of THAT agenda !
So some 17th C EuroTrash invented the spork? Whoddaguessed.
My Q: when these High & Mighty Lords & Masters of the Universe dine in majestic style, do the serfs place the spork on the left or right side of the golden platters?
Second Q: does the holy spork play some part in their rituals? And if so, do we want to know what it is?
The main issue, which appears to be ignored by many, is the corruption and conflicts of interest Which this is symptomatic of. Scalia, Thomas, Alito appear at conventions and get a fee. This is not always reported. Thomas went 9 years filing and signing false statements about income. He was allowed to revise those sworn statements which were false. Any other lawyer would be disbarred, sometimes jailed, for conduct of that sort.
The issue is corruption.
Endemic in the US judicial system. Junket perqs aren’t reserved for Supreme Court justices.
Some secret societies can be more or less than what they appear, but much of the madness in this world seems to pass through intentionally secret connections.
Religions are the first cousins of cults. The Malheur Refuge occupiers were directed by Mormon mysticism. The justification of the Bundys for taking over federal lands (aside from greed) was wrapped in the mythology that Jesus didn’t die on the cross for our sins, but instead came to the New World and lived among the natives. When the natives strayed from Mormonism they lost claim to the land. Just like Israel exists because of some deal between Jews and the Guy Upstairs a few thousand years ago, the imaginary angel Moroni bestowed the land to white folks who believed in the the proper god.
When you look at secret societies in the 20th Century you find secret, or semi-secret societies, on top of other secret societies. I’m halfway through The Devil’s Chessboard. The CIA is a secret society (as much as a federal agency can be) created and molded by Wall Street lawyers. It is related to all the groups that rich people have formed to manage the world: the Bilderberg Group, at al. Plus it is also NATO, which is the military arm of western capital. Is NATO secret? It was when it was moving around weapons for the Iran-contra weapons deals back in the 80s. When there might be a war that would have problems being justified and authorized in front of the UN, NATO can be used as a cover. Generally, the players in NATO can justify, say, a fifteen-year war in Afghanistan by claiming it’s a police action to arrest a terrorist. Eventually, people start asking questions and more rationales are introduced, but the underlying reason, a profit of sorts, remains hidden.
The KKK and its many analogues are secret societies. God gives his power to white people. Just like the Nation of Islam, the big guy upstairs has a special connection with special people, white or black, depending on the Big Guy upstairs.
The more secret a society the more power they accrue from their secrecy. The CIA, created by Wall Street lawyers to serve corporate investments worldwide, absorbed another, darker secret society. It absorbed the remains of the Nazi empire at the end of WWII. The Nazi theology grew from the Madame Blavatskys and their parlor meetings of the 1800s. Magic is dangerous. It allowed the mass murder of millions. It has been pointed out that the same ratlines that allowed Nazis and fascists to flee Europe after WWII would soon thereafter be used to move narcotics around the world. And, of course, narcotics importers are part of secret societies, otherwise known as organized crime. The anti-drug units of police forces are secret societies and eventually they end up violating the norms of society because of the secrecy they operate under. Eventually, “mistake” or “crimes” committed by these units are explained away by secrecy.
The military, or parts of it, work in secrecy. Who knew about all the Operation Gladio creations across Europe? Not the general public. In a sense, right-wing terror cells were armed under a secret program to prevent godless Communism from sweeping Europe.
Secret societies broadly work for goals that are generally opposed to the majority of the people. Ancient Egypt was organized to fight wars and build enormous monuments to the godliness of its rulers. Rarely is there a trickle-down of benefits to the common person in these arrangements. The whole concept of royalty is anti-democratic, anti-egalitarian, of course, and it relies on a group of people serving “by the grace of God.” Again, supernatural power. Which is the same power behind lynchings, seizing wildlife refuges, etc.
I am reminded of the S&L debacle. The S&L deregulations were done under Reagan/Bush, Bush recently being the Director of the CIA. Many of the subsequent bustouts of S&Ls were done by people with criminal and intelligence backgrounds. As US foreign policy focused intently on controlling world energy sources the BCCI appeared. Banks are secret, as secret as they are allowed to be. Money moves mysteriously. This group of Salafists is funded. That group gets TOW missiles. This group sells heroin. That group manages the banana plantations.
Charlie Manson was fighting a race war not unlike The Crusades. Not unlike the various Salafist groups backed by the House of Saud.
A decade after the CIA began working on mind control in earnest the US suddenly had a rash of political assassinations that in all cases aided the status quo. And yes, the attempted assassination of Wallace ensured Nixon’s reelection more than anything that happened at the Watergate Hotel. If it had been a Nixon-McGovern-Wallace race, the Republican Southern Strategy would have been outflanked on the right by Wallace. The CIA’s mind control programs were so secret that all their records had to be destroyed to remain secret. But don’t you suspect that someone in the web of secrets knows what Dr. Cameron and the rest discovered about the human mind? We do know that a lot of “CIA science” grew out of Nazi science. Secret societies.
In Elvis Costello’s song “Night Rally” he says, “You think they’re so dumb, you think they’re so funny. Wait until they have you running to the night rally.” Look at a Trump rally. Sometimes night rallies happen on Sunday mornings too, in glass cathedrals.
So, yes, secret societies should be of interest. There may not be anything such as magic but there are certainly plenty of magicians. Do you get fooled about the rabbit in the top hat or do you get fooled into giving up your life on a battlefield far away for the profit of a rich man?
…Nixon-McGovern-Wallace race, the Republican Southern Strategy would have been outflanked on the right by Wallace.
Why would the outcome have been different than the ’68 Nixon-HHH-Wallace race? Other than Nixon getting a larger portion of the popular vote plurality?
A generation ago, a 79-year-old man dying in his sleep would have unremarkable. What is interesting to me about the mystery surrounding Scalia’s death is that this is no longer the case. Today, someone who has access to the best medical treatment the country can offer is supposed to live to 90 or more. Think about Presidents and First Ladies. Who was the last one to die at less than 90 years old? Maybe I am missing someone but I think it was either Richard Nixon or Jackie Kennedy Onassis (they died in the same hospital at about the same time IIRC). And that was some time ago.
Any connection to the Bergin Hunt & Fish Club?
Indeed, one major fishing expedition!
