Where I work, we had a guy start with us recently – healthy guy in his 20s, few months out from his last job (too long for COBRA), had a medical emergency in his first few weeks with us and now needs a procedure. No insurance. It’s heartbreaking. Having the disaster happen in front of you makes all the politics so small.
