Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Second Empire Victorian. I am using the photo seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6×6 inch canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
There are lots of changes for this week’s installment. The brick side of the house is now complete. Note the windows and trim, which also continues up on the turret. The foundation has been completed as well. Now surrounding the house are the start of a lawn and trees to the rear. There is still much to do.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
The cafe is open.
I love the happy trees in the background. 🙂
Seems quiet this weekend. Guessing folks are tuning into the Olympics. Can’t say I have much interest, although I did catch the opening ceremony’s pomp and circumstance. The environmental theme was appreciated, if nothing else. Not sure that will change any minds, but at least an effort was made.
Anyhoo, hope those of you who stop by B2’s diary are doing okay. I wish I could say that I was slacking, but that’s not in the cards this year. Maybe next.
I’ve been able to grab the odd moment of slackery this week, despite political workings at the county fair and getting a slick candidate brochure finished and delivered to the printer last week. We had a couple of strong thunderstorms while the fair was underway. No fun being deluged with water while cooking in a little pop-up tent. Took a couple of days for my sneakers to dry out. Its all over now until next year and I am grateful for that. Now for some serious slacking!
Now that the stonework is done on my remodel, I’m back inside finishing the framing in the kitchen.
.
Please post a photo when it’s done.
Sure, although I’m not sure I will ever be done. I’m remodeling the remodel now. Waiting on 7 more windows that she added, plus the kitchen is on its third layout.
A happy wife makes a happy life, so no big deal to me. Windows take 8-10 weeks, so I have plenty of time to get it ‘right’.

Your painting is progressing nicely, boran2.
Thanks ID. It actually looks terrible on my phone.
