Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be starting an entirely new painting. I am using the photo seen directly below. It is another 2nd Empire Victorian, this one in Nyack, New York. Well, at least the tower is 2nd Empire. It actually looks like a bit of a mongrel. It stands on a slope overlooking the Hudson river. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas.
I started with my usual grid and pencil sketch. I then added some blue paint to my sketch. It’s a good start.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Don’t wreck the place.
I’m getting ready to hit the road for this event
I’m driving instead of flying because I seldom travel and it’s probably my last chance to see Colorado. Long drive for me, all the way to Nebraska. That might as well be on the moon from my perspective.
Leaving Sunday. My class runs Thursday and Friday.
It’s live streamed.
.
Have a good time!
Sounds like fun!
Well,
After
1,545 miles
128 dollars in gas
23.5 hours of driving (that includes stops, but not hotel for the night)
I’m here!
I got pulled over in eastern Colorado for going 85 in a 75. Had me dead to rights on radar. I was speeding, my registration was expired by 8 months, and I could not find my proof of insurance.
After I told him where I was going he gave me a warning and told me to slow down just a little and to take care of my paperwork when I got home.
.
We’re headed over to the kids’ house for a pool party in honor of the 4 yo granddaughter’s 4th birthday. Little kid chaos!
Lots of errands to run. Been too busy to wreck much of anything. So it goes.
