Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Nyack, New York 2nd Empire Victorian. The photo I’m using is seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas.
When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
There are a number of changes for this week’s cycle. Starting at the top, I’ve revised the roof to the far rear. The farthest eaves were at an angle and now sit level. The roof itself has been overpainted. Also revised is the tree directly behind the house. Below, I’ve completed the driveway and walk. The bushes along the driveway have been completed in a very simple fashion. There are now lit and shadowed portions. To the far left, the house next door has been revised. The painting is now finished.
The current and final state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have have a new painting to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Don’t wreck the place.
Nice paint job on the old house, b2!
I’m off later to cook a cauldron of beans the old fashioned way over an open fire. The local Democrats are hosting a free beans, cornbread and homemade dessert dinner tonight along with a state and local candidate meet & greet that’s always well attended and fun. I’m hoping we do well in donations, as I think we may have overspent the advertising budget just a little bit this cycle. We smell Republican blood in the water here in the IN-9th and are delightfully chumming up the sharks. <Cue up Jaws theme>
I can hear the old standing bass now.
Liking how this one turned out.
Looks like most of the medical stuff we’ve been dealing with is winding down. Getting encouraging news finally, and some hope that the worst is behind our extended family. And yes, thank goodness for Obamacare, warts and all. Our family would have maxed out its lifetime health benefit cap without the ACA in place. “Repeal and replace” my ass.
