So you say you want a revolution?
You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it’s evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don’t you know that you can count me out
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We’d all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We’re doing what we can
But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
You say you’ll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right
Timely as ever. Consider it a friendly or not so friendly reminder, depending on your perspective.
So many songs I am sure I could find that would be variations on the theme.
It was quite the epiphany when I opened myself up into understanding of what Lennon was really communicating there.
You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We’d all love to see the plan
Yeah.

This song arrived in my head this morning:
I’m sorry.
Always fun:
Why, when I was a youngster…
Two Kings.

A great song from the early 1980s. Pairing David Bowie and Freddie Mercury was pure genius. And it is a fitting song for the season.
Queen probably isn’t held in high regard around here but I’m a huge Mercury fan. He was amazing, and his songs means he will live forever.
.
And hopefully no more of this.
I first heard of Talking Heads thanks to SNL – my parents really should not have allowed me up late at night, but alas, they did. Became an instant fan. Great video pick that fits right in with this week’s theme.
A harbinger? Let us hope not.
