The thing to remember about Spicy is that he’s part of the Republican establishment along with Priebus – he’s not so supposed to be an amateur hot head without prior experience.
Even more than Trump he’s an indicator of how stupidly incompetent and willfully ignorant the median Republican has become.
I barely watch SNL any more, although this season I have probably caught a few more episodes than usual. Glad I have. Missed last night’s – felt like binge-watching Archer instead. Thanks for posting this. Needed the laugh. Los Gatos pretty well said it – even as parody, it captures the mindset of the likely median Republican. So it goes.

I saw that. I’ll keep a healthy dose of skepticism for the time being. But if true, wow. Just. Wow.
Some of it comports with what I’ve been thinking, but it seems like it’s wrapped up too nicely in a bow. He could have been sent with a tape, definitely, but how did they lose control of it? Also, I think that spies (the Russians ones, at least) could figure out how to have a conversation that the whole world isn’t listening to.
So, yeah, I think the story is bad and bubbling near the surface, but I don’t believe it will ever look as open and shut as she describes it.
Only way it could is if the Russians leaked it because they’re done risking the future of humanity on a failed bet to get the sanctions lifted.
That seems plausible. Putin’s regime appears to be running out of patience with tRump. If the regime has the goods, and finds tRump expendable, maybe we do get a lot of incriminating dirt leaked – enough to force tRump out of the White House. I’m still a bit leery of Louise Mensch as a source, and have to wonder who still uses tapes (audio or video) in this day and age. Interesting story, though. And interesting times we live in.
‘Tape’ could be a euphemism. It’s all digital. What better way to transport it than on a phone…encrypted. But digital can also be hacked.
Not saying it’s true…seems to easy to me. But my prediction is that somewhere there is a ‘tape’ that begins the end game.

That could make sense. Tape certainly is easier to say and understand (especially for those in my age cohort), than audio recording or digital recording (which doesn’t quite have the same ring to it!). If there is damning recorded evidence, I am not alone in wanting it to surface. That would truly be the mother of all bombs, and would change politics in this country as we know it – in this case for the better (I’m still an optimist at heart).
Well, his fans will simply claim it’s fake.

Of course they will. If evidence gets produced to an extent that no reasonable person would deny its validity, that bunch of dead-enders will still be shouting “fake news” to their graves.

The reason I don’t believe the story is that say what you will about Donald Trump he’s a pretty litigious actor and I’m pretty sure he knows the ropes on limiting liability -criminal and civil.
I don’t think he makes a tape any more than he would sign a letter to Putin. But that could be overestimating his capability.
I suspect we’re both on some level in agreement that a certain amount of skepticism is healthy right now. As mentioned earlier, I don’t feel comfortable putting stock in stories where Louis Mensch is the source. That said, I am learning never to underestimate tRump’s stupidity or that of his “team” (as it were). As Walter Sobchak might say – “fucking amateurs.”
That is just sick, if true.
