Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Main Street, Cold Spring, NY painting. The photo that I’m using is seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
There are a number of changes for this week’s cycle. To the far rear, I’ve reshaped the tree(s). The former version was far too much. I’ve also continued to fill in some of the building elements. Note the window details. The door arch now has depth and awaits shadows and a door. Right now it looks a bit like a partially completed jigsaw puzzle.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Don’t mess up the place.
I assure you that I am no serial blog wrecker. 🙂
I’m still in a basement (known as the ‘Pit’), putting in an exposed beam ceiling.
Almost done.
.
Sounds like quite a project. I’ll be bogged down with work – in fact had to take some home with me this weekend. Eventually I’ll get a bit of a break.
Will it ever stop raining here in the Hudson Valley?
I think I was asking that same question in my little corner of the US not that long ago.
It finally stopped here after several days of over an inch per day – just in time for IU graduation ceremonies yesterday with an estimated 30K graduates and guests. The local accommodations runneth over with visitors.
I’m anticipating a short break from political stuff and should have time to catch up with the normal household chores, such as cleaning the dang gutters that are clogged and overflowed with all the rain. Seems like I just did that, but the maple flyers have come and gone since then.
I think I get to spend one of my days off on gutter cleanup detail. That’ll be in a couple weeks. So still “working” but at least it’s something different. 🙂
