I mean…it is hard to believe that WAPO is still being seriously taken as a newspaper rather than as a direct conduit of disinfo/misinfo/false-ish news propagated by the CIA and other intelligence services after many decades of CIA alliance and control.

But it is. (Of course in some cases, it is accepted with a wink and a nod when its disinfo fits the political aims of certain individuals who actually know better. Y’all know who you are, here…)

However…after Jeff Bezos “miraculously” won the bidding war for the Post in 2013 and his megamorphic corporation Amazon won a following bid competition to essentially become the CIA’s cloud company of record (with a higher bid than many competitors), it’s time for even the wink-winkers to wake the fuck up.

Amazon in now entering the movie business.

Its first film?

An undoubted whitewash of the intelligence-run honeytrap scam on poor ol’ Bill “Ah jes’ cain’t resist!!!” Clinton while he was still in power in the the Oral Office…errr, ahhhh Oval Orfice. No…damn!!! I mean Oval Office.

Get Ready for the Monica Lewinsky-Linda Tripp Buddy Comedy You Never Wanted

Since our national longing has, for some inexplicable reason, turned its eye toward the 1990s insisting that slip dresses, plaid, and chokers are fashionable again, it seems only natural that the ’90s nostalgia would lead us back to the scandals of the Clinton Administration. According to Deadline, Amazon will be the first to revisit the Bill Clinton White House with Linda and Monica, a film that will explore the “budding friendship” of history’s oddest of odd couples, Linda Tripp and Monica Lewinsky.

Though Amazon Studio’s announcement is light on details, it’s safe to assume that Linda and Monica will retread the relationship between the two women (“friendship” seems like an odd description, considering what conspired) beginning in 1996. Lewinsky and Tripp met after both women had been transferred from the White House to the Pentagon, Tripp in 1994 and Lewinsky in 1996. Despite the age difference–Tripp is roughly 25 years older than Lewinsky–the two women became friends and Lewinsky eventually told Tripp about her relationship with then-President Clinton.

Like any good friend, Tripp immediately sought the advice of a literary agent who advised her to record her conversations with Lewinsky and, in September 1997, Tripp began doing just that. A year later, Tripp turned over the recording to Kenneth Starr and, as `90s kids know, we were forced to dissect the meaning of sex, blue dresses, and cigars for the next few years. I passed out just thinking about it.

Deadline notes that the script, written by Flint Wainess, is based on the recorded conversations between Tripp and Lewinsky. Amazon has yet to cast Linda and Monica, so take your bets on which two actresses will agree to star in this.

Sigh…

Trivialize the real news, and newsify the real trivia.

CIA 101.

Look up Tripp’s history. And Lucienne Goldberg’s as well.

Here’s a good start:

LITTLE KNOWN FACTS ABOUT OVER-KNOWN PEOPLE

Linda Tripp and Lucianne Goldberg are not only conservatives, they have interesting connections with military and civilian intelligence. Tripp — Tim Weiner and Judith Miller pointed out in the NYT last January — worked for “highly classified Army intelligence and commando units in the 1980s. As an aide to Delta Force, she knew that keeping and maintaining secret records is crucial in a crisis.” According to NBC News, Tripp, then the wife of a U.S. Army officer, worked for Delta Force at Ft. Bragg, NC., in 1988-1989 and for U.S. Army intelligence at Ft. Meade, Md., in 1987. On her resume she described “the nature of this position is classified.” She also speaks German fluently.

Lucianne Goldberg was one of two writers hired by Nixon’s premier dirty trickster, Murray Chotiner, to pose as reporters with Democratic campaigns — including that of George McGovern — and to report back to Chotiner.

Daniel Brandt of Public Information Research reports that the other writer was Seymour Freidin who was subsequently said to be a CIA agent by columnist Jack Anderson (who himself is believed to have had agency ties). According to V. Petrusenko in the 1977 book, “A Dangerous Game: CIA and the Mass Media,” when other correspondents quizzed him about the charge, Freidin responded, “I gave my word to Dick Helms.”

During the 1972 campaign, Goldberg claimed to work for the North American Newspaper Alliance and the Women’s News Service. NANA was deeply infiltrated by the CIA. In February of this year, Frank Greve and Ron Hutcheson, writing for the Knight-Ridder/Tribune Service noted that Goldberg became close to Victor Lasky who introduced her to Chotiner. Lasky was involved with a CIA front, Radio Liberty, and was close to CIA director William Casey. Goldberg’s son, Jonah, works for Ben Wattenberg, who was once vice chair of the Board for International Broadcasting, established in 1973 to end direct CIA control over Radio Liberty and Radio Free Europe.

And the beat goes on.

And on and on and on and on and…

As Samuel Clemens/Mark Twain so wisely wrote, well over 100 years ago:

If you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you’re mis-informed.

Truer now than ever.

WTFU.
