Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Cape May, New Jersey street scene. The photo that I’m using is seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
There art two areas of change for this week’s cycle. The front porch of the central structure has been further refined. The posts and rails now stand in contrast to the shadows behind. Below, the foliage has been filled in and the steps and fencing defined. The fencing is far too white but that will be the subject of a future installment.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here. (Currently under construction.)
Open it is.
The fence and the shrubbery! Yes! Those are taking shape. Beginning to feel like I could just take a stroll in the neighborhood – if only the weather would cooperate. Ah well, we can’t have everything. But this is nice.
Our weather is better than the 7 degrees we were having but still cold and windy.
Mid seventies here in SoCal, without a cloud in the sky.
.
We’ll get below zero wind chills for the next couple days. Even in the South, we get reminded that there is something called winter. But man, I am jealous of you folks in SoCal.
I’m jealous!
