The US has abandoned International convention and the UN Security Council Resolutions about Israel as a state and the illegal occupation of Palestinian land. To place a hardliner like Thomas Friedman in the US Embassy in Jerusalem … `nuf said!
Israel: US ambassador handed doctored image of east Jerusalem | DW |
The Al-Aqsa Mosque is one of Islam’s holiest sites; Muslims believe the Prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven from the structure. Known to Muslims as al-Haram al-Sharif (“Noble Sanctuary”) and as Temple Mount to Jews, the larger compound surrouding the mosque sits on land sacred to both religions. It is considered the holiest site in Judaism.
The site in Israel-annexed east Jerusalem has been a frequent flashpoint for violence between Israelis and Palestinians and a major source of tension in the decades-old conflict.

US envoy poses with photo showing Temple in place of Al-Aqsa | Ynet News |
US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman posed with a photoshopped picture of Jerusalem with the Third Temple replacing the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The photoshopped picture was published on the Kikar HaShabbat website, sparking outrage.
The US Embassy’s Spokesperson had to issue a statement saying the American diplomatic mission to Israel had nothing to do with the controversial photo.
“Ambassador Friedman was not aware of what was shown on the photo given to him. He was disappointed when realizing somebody took advantage of his visit to Bnei Brak to create controversy,” according to the statement.
“The US policy is absolutely clear–we support the status quo regarding the Temple Mount.”
1/2 Ambassador Friedman was not aware of the image thrust in front of him when the photo was taken. He was deeply disappointed that anyone would take advantage of his visit to Bnei Brak to create controversy.

Yehudah Glick takes son to Temple Mount before his wedding | Times of Israel |
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a special dispensation to Likud lawmaker Yehudah Glick to visit the Temple Mount in Jerusalem with his son Shlomo ahead of the latter’s wedding.
In a Twitter post with photos of the visit, Glick wrote, “Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister,” and called the approval “a wonderful gift for a son’s wedding, a meaningful human gesture for me.”
Glick is a well-known advocate for Jewish prayer at the site, which houses the Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa mosque. It is revered by Jews as the location of the ancient Jewish temples and is considered Islam’s third-holiest site.
What´s behind the Temple Mount Riots in Jerusalem
Israelis who seek to take over al-Aqsa see the 14 July attack and subsequent violence as an opportunity to advance this agenda. Immediately after the incident, the Temple movement‘s official body released a statement calling to expel Palestinians from the compound: “We must liberate the Temple Mount from the murderous Islam and return it to the people of Israel.”
“Looking forward to building the Temple this year and hope that you will soon see the face of our righteous Messiah,” Baruch Marzel one of the most extreme leaders among Israel’s West Bank settlers, wrote last week in an open letter to the mufti of Jerusalem – the top Muslim official in the city.

Third Temple to be rebuilt after destruction of Al Asqa mosque – Yehudah Glick
Israeli Al Aqsa “Compromise:” Force Muslim Worshippers Through Cattle Pen-Like Shutes | Tikun Olam |
After the miserable failure of the security measures implemented unilaterally at the Haram al Sharif by Israeli police and the police minister, including metal detectors and surveillance cameras, which incited a Days of Rage and the killing of five Palestinians in the past two days, Israel is proposing a compromise of sorts. The substance of the compromise is really no compromise at all. According to the proposal, Israel would remove the metal detectors it installed after two police officers were killed by three Palestinian attackers last week. In their place it would install chutes through which all worshippers would pass on their way to the holy site:
Jerusalem city workers, directed by police, would set up fenced-off “sleeves” at the entrances to the Temple Mount. Muslim worshipers would be required to file through these channels. Anyone seen as suspicious, on cameras…installed at the entrances, would be checked with a hand-held metal detector.

Israeli media love parodies about politics … throughout the years I’ve watched many of them. The Israel’s delegate to the Euro Songfestival won this year … a parody on her win and Israel’s subjugation of Palestinians on Dutch TV failed to make Israelis smile. Of course the criticism was coined as anti-semitism. Fascism! America’s best ally in the Middle East …
