Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the eastern shore of Virginia inn.  The photo that I’m using is seen directly below.  I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week’s cycle I have begun to delinate light and shadow.  Note the blue shadowed areas of the main roof, porch roof and extreme right side gable.  I’ve also begun what will be shadows on the two front facing gables.  These have been delineated by the diagonal lines seen across each.  This mirrors the shadowed areas of the original photo.  I will slightly exaggerate the contrast.  Also, the colors will change and all of the blue will be overpainted.  Finally, I have added all that green to the surrounding yard and trees.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
