I started this piece as a response to a seabe comment on Booman’s recent article “GOP to Ram Kavanaugh Down Our Throats.”(<http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2018/8/2/151536/8031>)

Ishmael2 wrote:

The Republican donor class cares primarily about tax cuts and staying in power. I wouldn’t expect any “turning on” Trump until and unless one of those priorities are threatened.

Seabe repied:

Need an asterisk by that “threatened” part. Trump upending the global world trade system would certainly not be in their interests. Now I’m not saying that’s going to come to pass, but it’s a distinct possibility greater than 0. Just look at Brexit, idiots are purposefully going to starve themselves if they have “no deal”. One would think rich elites wouldn’t want to gamble world order like that, but here The are doing it. To a certain extent they’ve lost control just as much as the GOP leadership has.

Read on for my reply to seabe.

You write:

Precisely.

This has been the Trump/Bannon plan from the get-go.

The only real opposition to Trump…the only truly effective kind  of opposition possible…is going to have to come from a system as powerful as the U.S. system that Trump appears to be in the process of successfully co-opting. And who is that? Only China and/or Russia. Nato is already in shreds. Bet on it. And it appears that China and Russia are willing to sit on their hands and wait for Trump to tank the U.S. system. After all…that’s what is in their best interests as long as the U.S. doesn’t explode (and/or implode) to the point of global disaster. The centrist U.S. DemocRat/RatPublican political powers have already proven to be helpless to stop him…he functionally blew them out of the water in the 2016 primaries and election. I expect no more real anti-Trump success in November, although the neocentrist media will certainly try to paint whatever happens as a win.

It appears to me that Trump’s tweets actually carry as much if not more propaganda power than does the entire anti-Trump media. This is an amazing development, really. Social media more powerful than mass media!!! Why? How? It is more compact, thus easier for simple minds to comprehend. Even Fox, MSNBC and CNN news…simple-minded as they are…require more effort than does Tweetdom. I mean…you have to follow TV news in time…make an extended effort to stare at the tube for a minute or so. Twitter? Once you get the gist of the message, you can skim. Or look away. Or click away to whatever else superficially interests you. Kitty cat vids. Porn. Baseball. Whatever. Twitter’s 140 (or even 280) character limit is about all that most dummies can handle, and…believe it…there are a lot of dummies out there. More every day as our supposed digital servant dumbs down the minds of up-and-coming generations even more than it has done so far. I would be willing to bet that the average attention span of the English-speaking inhabitants of the U.S. has halved…or worse…in the last 12 years or so. Trump’s tweets hit a huge segment of them dead center. Bam!!! Bang!!! On the the next topic.

Duh.

Idiocracy at work.

Trump’s third party?

The Idiocrats.

They are now…along with lockstep, mainstream Republicans…a voting majority.

What to do?

Damned if I know.

Keep thinking, I guess.

They will eventually do what idiots always do.

Fuck up.

Maybe then clean-up time will begin to happen.

Until then?

Let us pray.

Later…

P.S. “Our supposed digital servant.”

Yup.

In the spirit of Thoreau:

Men have become the tools of their tools – Henry David Thoreau

And Veblen:

Here and now, as always and everywhere, invention is the mother of necessity. – Thorstein Veblen

Yup.

Twice.

P.P.S. I hate meta.

But…I also hate being censored.

I am going to post a link to this piece…and every other piece I write that stems from a response to something someone wrote as a comment on this site…as a reply to that comment. The marduk entity warned me not to double post things like this…once as a reply and again as a standalone…or it would zero me out. I complied, and here is the result of that compliance:

Re: Bipartisan Coalition May Elect Next Speaker (1.33 / 3)

I started a comment to Booman’s post above. It grew.

Now a standalone:

The Final Chapter of This Season’s Game of Drones Will Air In November. Bet On It.

Please comment there.

Thank you…

AG

Nice.

The entities marduk and oaguabonita attempted to zero the link out.

This is censorship in action. If it continues it will be the death of this blog.

If you care about Booman Tribune, please uprate comments that make some kind of sense to you…mine or anyone else’s…so that this neocentrist Gang of Four (marduk, nalbar, centerfielddj and oaguabonita) cannot succeed in neocensoring it directly into lockstep idiocrity.

Thank you, and have a wonderful day.

P.P.P.S. About 15 minutes after I wrote the above mentioned linking reply to seabe, this happened to it:

Betcha the Gang of Four are excitedly texting/emailing each other to post another zero and eliminate my link. That’s ok, too. I am now going to add the name of the person to whom I am replying as part of the titles of my standalone posts. Zero away. You will eventually reap exactly what you sow, McCarthyites.

Zero!!!
