If you’re like me, you’re beginning to wonder how much longer it will take a grand jury to indict Roger Stone and whether it will occur before or after the midterm elections. The biggest development on that front this week is the announcement that Jerome Corsi will be appearing before a grand jury tomorrow. If you’re not familiar with Mr. Corsi, he’s best known for being a 9/11 Truther, writing the 2004 campaign book Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry and the 2011 book Where’s the Birth Certificate? The Case That Barack Obama Is Not Eligible To Be President, and for advancing other outlandish conspiracy theories like the idea that the Obama administration secretly wanted Iran to develop a nuclear weapons capability.

Corsi was tapped by Alex Jones around the time of the Trump’s inauguration to lead Infowars’ coverage of the new presidency. Roger Stone, of course, spent a good deal of time during the 2016 campaign making appearances with Alex Jones on Infowars. The main point of Corsi’s testimony appears to be for him to explain a column he wrote for Infowars in March 2017 in which he claimed to be the source for Roger Stone’s August 2016 claim that John Podesta would soon see his time “in the barrel.” The tweet by Stone was later broadly interpreted to indicate that Stone had inside knowledge about the hacking of Podesta’s email at least a month and a half before those emails were published. By providing a cover story for Stone, Corsi inadvertently put himself in legal jeopardy. Tomorrow he will show up and hand his phone and laptop over to a grand jury.

Based on the company Corsi keeps, there’s likely to be some very interesting information on those electronic devices. I wonder if we’ll ever hear about what the grand jury finds.
