Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be starting a new painting. I am putting aside the Gothic style house for the moment. I will come back to it. I will be painting the back of an old double-turreted Victorian seen in Virginia. The photo that I am using is seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 8×10 inch canvas.
I started with a pencil grid on both a print of the photo and the canvas. In this way I was able to transfer the elements to the canvas in an accurate pencil sketch. I’ve overpainted the lines of my sketch.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Bring it.
Early voting taken care of late week. Call it a family tradition. Mostly hoping that outcome this year is the beginning of rebuilding our local party and the end of GOP supermajorities in my state.
And managed to squeeze in a bit of canvasing while at it. Hard to appreciate the size of a community until you drive through it and more importantly walk through it. I know our early voting numbers look good, but it’s really hard to which party benefits until votes are tallied. I did quite by accident stumble upon a part of my city that turns out to be quite scenic. Will have to get that way again and get some photos when I can get a spare moment again.
