Welcome back, music lovers. It has been a while, hasn’t it? Instead of life slowing down, it only got more complicated. But you know, as the saying goes, “I get knocked down, but I get up again…”
Wait.
That reminds me of a song, from probably the one band I loved in the 1980s I never imagined with a top 40 pop hit in the late 1990s:
Here’s one from around 1993.
That one did well on the UK charts. I remember Chumbawamba more for their LPs from the 1980s when there was still a recognizable anarchopunk scene, and they usually got lumped in with other anarchopunk bands. By the time they landed these hits, they had honed their craft a great deal – and still as uncompromising.
Last November was a good one for us, after being knocked down repeatedly for much of the decade. I hope those of us time bombs use our explosive energy for more good in the coming years ahead. We’ll need it.
…for keeping this series going. If anyone deserves a vacation it’s you. I’ve got this for a bit.
Welcome back, Senor Dorito.
Gracias.
Do you feel refreshed after your walkabout?
I did, until my spouse got injured. Let’s just say…the things I wake up to. So whatever rejuvenation I experienced is now gone again while I take considerable time off work and staying home and acting as a sort of uncertified nurse’s aid. Not sure how long that will go on.
You’re welcome and it was my pleasure.
Welcome back and Happy New Year! To celebrate, I’m pouring Cocktail Artist Champagne Margarita – Tipsy Bartender.
