They certainly are.
The one that gets me is the lying to the FBI, or Congress. Who could be so stupid? Risk it all on a pardon? Morons.
.
They’ve brazenly lied and engaged in fraudulent actions their entire lives. It all culminated in them winning the Presidency, which gave them some control over the FBI and the rest of the Justice Department. Why wouldn’t they be comfortable in their delusions? It all worked out brilliantly for them for quite a long time.
The attack now about Stone on FB is they were merely small lies in an email, easily forgotten by him and meaningless in any case. And witness tampering over a dog? Gimme a break. Mueller is making federal case out of it, and he needs to be stopped. I wonder how Stone will take it after time for it to sink in.
Stone has been acting as if his case is going to be adjudicated on the Jerry Springer show.
If he isn’t a complete lunatic, I believet the gravity of his situation will eventually begin to sink in.
I’m confident that as long as Roger keeps winning the daily news cycles on conservative media, his legal problems will go away. /s
On the other hand…
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Stone’s been arrested
And it’s very unlikely the shifty bastard weasels his way out of this hole

Somebody should whisper in his ear that witness tampering can get you as much as twenty years, dog or no dog involved.
Yabbut a pardon will get him zero time in prison. That’s what’s happening here.
But enough about Howard Schultz…
What happens to Trump after this?
A) Impeached/Indicted – no longer in office. Does he stop lying? Is his house of cards collapsed?
B) Loses in 2020. Does he continue lying?
C) Wins in 2020. We will become a nation of liars!
How does this nightmare end?
Can the Trump criminal enterprise move to Russia or Saudi Arabia?
We are already a nation of liars and have been since embracing the voodoo economics of Reagan. Despite what science and logic show to be true we have allowed ourselves to be beholden to some of the worst policies ever.
Climate change denial, monetizing our children’s education, insane for profit healthcare system, the answer to gun violence is more guns (WTF?)… right wing falsehoods abound.
John Boehner used to lie EVERY time he appeared on TV.
Remember Romney and all the lies he told on the campaign trail?
Trump is just carrying on the Grand Old Party’s tradition.
Let’s face it we’re surrounded by so much B.S. already that we don’t even see it anymore.
Well are they all really “morons”? Asking because, after all, these people have been lying, cheating, stealing, engaging in all sorts of crooked & criminal behaviors, plus majorly grifting anywhere they can, and LOOK: they’ve been really really successful for a very very long time.
So, uh, I dunno. Are they really morons, or just white collar crooks who knew that, most of the time, they could get away with it. And how! they’re mostly all very rich and powerful. So of course, now they believe their own bullshit.
After all, Trump said he could go out on 5th Avenue & start murdering people in cold blood, and his rabid fans would STILL vote for him. He’s not at all wrong. If, today, Trump did that, GOP voters could come up with some way to prove (to themselves) that this was just another way that Trump is playing elebenty billion chess, and by murdering innocent citizens, he’s really OWNING the Libs. WIN!
I think US citizens – at least a sizeable minority – are the real morons.
YMMV.
At a certain point we do have to pin some level of accountability on the citizenry. That is anathema in politics, but the unfortunate reality.
The 46% thought an unqualified imbecile with a manifest personality disorder was OBVIOUSLY the Superior Choice for prez. There is no bottom for them.
Yes, they were lied to at Goebbelsian levels; yes, the corrupt corporate media chanted “But her emails!” more than Trumper’s almost unbelievable history of scandals and crimes. But come on…this wasn’t brain surgery, people.
Obama-Trump voters have shown they can’t tell up from down, basically. And they’re still (mostly) “approving” of him!
As several have noted, Trump was born with a silver spoon up his ass. The guy has never been held accountable for his actions. So while in one sense they’re complete morons, assuming red carpets and rose petals will always spring forth from the world before their feet, in another sense they’re just responding to life as they’ve always known it. Same for Kushner. The whole lot of ’em are a bunch of spoiled brats.
Did anyone see the film “Born Rich” some years back? I think it came out around 2002. It was the work of Jamie Johnson, then a young heir to the Johnson & Johnson fortune. It was a documentary revolving around his 21st birthday, when he came into his share of the family wealth. He essentially interviewed all his friends plus his dad and made a film of it. Ivanka Trump, then a willowy young thing, was one of its subjects.
With an exception or two, the whole lot came off as arrogant and incredibly self entitled. Ivanka impressed some by hailing her father’s supposedly great achievements. To me she seemed like an idiot.
Was impressed with Josiah Hornblower, one of the heirs to the Whitney and Vanderbilt fortunes. He allowed himself to be real and vulnerable. One could see his struggles and the ways in which he was working to carve out a meaningful life. Same for Johnson himself, a guy who could have done nothing and instead decided to out the world of privilege into which he was born. He was shunned after that by other members of the American aristocracy.
