Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be starting a new painting. The photo that I’m using is seen directly below. It is a Cadillac DPi racing car. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas.
I started with a pencil grid on both a print of the photo and the canvas. In this way I was able to transfer the car to the canvas in an accurate pencil sketch. I’ve begun to add some base paint on the car and pavement.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Vroom vroom.
Classic VW Beetle from just about the time that VW ended that model’s US run. I was a passenger in enough of VW’s vehicles manufactured in the 1960s & 1970s growing up (mostly Beetles, Squarebacks, and yes, the old VW Bus).
A nice example. I grew up with some terrible full sized American cars, including a 1971 Mercury Marquis (black vinyl over yellow) that dwarfed just about everything on the road.
